First of all I would like to Apologize for not commenting yesterday. It was my office's Christmas Party and we were in charge. I can't today since I'm finishing all of my Best Of Lists and Graphics. I will as soon as I'm done.
Let me just clear up that the Artist of the Year is not my Airplay Artist of the Year Both are different. My Airplay Artist of The Year will depend on my Last FM Scrobbles while Artist of the Year will depend on their relevance in my YTT Chart.
Take note that my Last FM Scrobbles are not accurate, some have double songs so eventhough you look it up there, that's not the chart. It's inaccurate I merged all song versions + Album versions so it will be different.
I will start tomorrow.
If I finish tonight, I will start my chart with the songs from 110-101.
Then tomorrow will be the official launch of my 100 Best Songs & Airplay Songs of 2012.
By the time we reach the top 50, the updates will be as follows, simultaneously:
Top 50 Best Songs of 2012
Top 50 Airplay Songs
Top 50 Artists
Top 50 Albums
So from the top 50 and on, it will be a quadruple update!
Airplay Songs will be a Pointing System where my plays will be counted as Audience Impressions.
So for example:
Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe had 100 Plays = 100.0 M AI.
My Albums will be pointed out as Millions.
Example:
Carly Rae Jepsen's Kiss had 300 Plays = 3.0 Million Copies
Artists: Well I can't think of anything so it will just be a pointing system with unclear domination.
My personal picks will start after the Top 100.
I can't wait to start this tomorrow! See you guys!!
Album: One Woman Army Debut Date: October 15, 2012 Peak Position: 22 Weeks on Chart: 9*
Ciara is back with a new ballad called 'Sorry'. I must applaud Ciara because she stays within her roots and that's what I like about her. She's pure R&B and she doesn't care. Sorry is the second single off her yet to be released album "One Woman Army"
Last Year: Charlie Brown by Coldplay
Album: My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Debut Date: Sept. 25, 2011 Peak Position: 17 (2012); 3 (2011) Weeks on Chart: 9 (2012)
Who would've thought this would still chart just a few spots shy of the Top 100? Lost in the World in my opinion is My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy's best song. It's just a perfect rap-up song of one epic album. Bon Iver makes a surprise feature and samples his song "Woods". Don't hold you breath Kanye stans! We have another solo from him + The Throne & GOOD Music so stay tuned!
Last Year: Lighters by Bad Meets Evil f/ Bruno Mars
Album: Unbroken Debut Date: April 30, 2012 Peak Position: 14 Weeks on Chart: 15
I am very disappointed with the year end position of this song. But it is my fault. This is Demi Lovato's second single off Unbroken after Skyscraper which went top the top 70 of last year's best of. This is so far Demi's biggest hit yet to date scoring the top spot of the top 40 Charts. This so far sold 1.6 Million Copies in the US.
Last Year:Dog Days Are Over by Florence + The Machine
Album: Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded The Re-Up Debut Date: November 7, 2012 Peak Position: 13 Weeks on Chart: 6*
This song was a good listen at first but Nicki's annoying "rap skills" kinda ruins it after a few listens. Nicki is joined by Casse (which is super hot in the video by the way). We have more Nicki later on on the countdown and a Cassandra song so stay tuned.
Last Year: For The First Time by The Script
Album:Babel Debut Date: September 3, 2012 Peak Position: 20 Weeks on Chart: 9
Disappointing song and an even bigger disappointment in the album department. I wouldn't actually say 'Babel' is bad but it's just not on par with their last album. I will give this another listen to see what might be my problem with the album. This is the only Mumford & Sons song in the chart. Last year, Mumford & Sons entered with 2 songs (Little Lion Man & The Cave).
Last Year: You Make Me Feel by Cobra Starship f/ Sabi
Album: Channel ORANGE Debut Date: July 16, 2012 Peak Position: 19 Weeks on Chart: 11
I love this song. I really don't know why it didn't go any more further. The second part of the song is amazing. Now they just need to release Forrest Gump and the era will be perfect!
Last Year: Crawling Back to You by Daughtry
Album: Femme Fatale Debut Date: Oct 2, 2011 Peak Position: 1 (2011); 11 (2012) Weeks on Chart: 8 (2012)
Y'all might see me bashing this song everytime when Britney is being talked about. Let's all agree that this hoe is trash and should've been on Femme Fatale. The only reason it went number 1 last year in my chart is because of that epic video. Without that it would've flopped harder than Gangnam Style in my chart. Meh song. Next. Oh and this is Britney's only entry this year.
Last Year: Lost In You by Three Days Grace
Album: 3 Debut Date: September 17, 2012 Peak Position: 18 Weeks on Chart: 11*
Great song, great song. I thought it would be awful since will.i.am was featured but to my surprise it's actually one of the best songs of 2012. Let's hope Hall of Fame makes the cut next year tho.
Last Year: Countdown by Beyonce
Album: Overexposed Debut Date: June 11, 2012 Peak Position: 19 Weeks on Chart: 11
Mediocre song. It's catchy tho but I'm not really interested. This is Maroon 5's only song to chart this year. Wiz's as well.
Last Year: Marry the Night by Lady Gaga
Album: Kaleidoscope Dream Debut Date: November 7, 2012 Peak Position: 7 Weeks on Chart: 6*
I love this song. It's like the prince of sex songs this year (with Birthday Cake as the kween). This is Miguel's first ever entry in my chart. Watch out for Adorn tho as I added it on my playlist last week.
Last Year: Stereo Hearts by Gym Class Heroes
That's all for today guys! I'm still not finished with the others so I'm not sure if I can start the Top 100 Tomorrow. Thanks!
