First Diamonds is #1 on US iTunes. #1 on all streaming services and the is gaining with honors on US Radio Airplay.

The song is doing perfectly fine with or without the remix.

Diamonds will go #1 alone solely on it's efforts.

The remix was just issued to sustain it's longevity in the URBAN market, usually she would have released a 2nd single, but DJ didn't this time.

I've already gone over how it isnt' desperate and gave a reason why it would be needed in the sake of Rihanna's general audience.

Diamonds isn't URBAN, so to keep it's longevity there they released this remix. Get over it. Your fave...let's not even go there with desperate.
