I've lived and spent alot of time in the bad parts of Calgary. I've been kind of use to see blood on sidewalks, broken windows, shot out cars. I even lived through a riot once, so its not much of a shock anymore.
Oh, and even the public transit sounds just like Calgary. Always late (like 20-30 minutes late), overpriced, and the rudest transit cops in existance.
