And I'm speaking as someone who likes Nicki a lot...

Then why are her songs continuously successful?
Why is she continuously asked to be featured on everybody's track?
Why is she still getting endorsements?
Why does she still get good reception wherever she appears?
The "general public" has no problem with Nicki. Nicki herself is not hated. Her music is played and on the format it gets played, she gets good reception. It's not like Starships is being spun on urban stations. Urban audiences don't HAVE to hear pop Nicki at all if they don't want to. They just bop to Beez or one of her 3582968 features getting rotation.
And this is just in general and not directly to you, but some of ATRL be letting the internet and blogs get to y'all. Out in the real world, with fresh air, where people aren't paying attention to Nicki's tweets or blogs or how this song is charting and how this album is charting and blah blah blah - Nicki is GOOD. Her music is heard on radio, her videos/performances are seen on TV, and people move on with their lives.
I think a lot of people on ATRL have a warped SENSE of what the "general public" really is. ESPECIALLY regarding Nicki - because most of the negative energy towards Nicki is actually from diehard fans ONLINE who liked her for her mixtapes who are just butthurt she does pop now. The rest of the world sincerely does not care and most of them probably don't even know.
