I disagree. "Born This Way" the song is much more memorable than "Toxic". It might not be for all the right reasons, but everyone knows Born This Way, it's arguably become her defining song. "Toxic", while great, couldn't even reach #1 in her home country.
|
EVERYONE knows Toxic.
In 10 years BTW won't be anywhere near as remembered as Toxic is today, and who gives a **** if it didn't reach #1 in the US, are we NOT talking about worldwide where it DID hit #1?
Toxic is THAT Britney song and is by far her most universally liked song and video. Everytime is also very memorable as well so i don't what know you guys are on about.

In the end, ITZ is the correct answer and would've probably ended up at around 10 million if Britney continued the era instead of having to end it at just 3 singles due to the knee injury. ATRL knows the tea.

Toxic is THAT Britney song, it is by far her most universally liked song and video. Everytime is also very memorable as well so i don't what you guys are on about.

In the end, ITZ is the correct answer and would've probably ended up at around 10 million if Britney continued the era instead of having to end it at just 3 singles due to the knee injury. ATRL knows the tea.

Exactly, there's a reason ITZ is winning the poll by a large margin.

HOLY *****, that was BTW's promo schedule?!
I'm jealous, I wish Britney had HALF that promo schedule.

In The Zone, as a full album, which is what we are discussing, was ignored.
BTW has more impressive album sales (the other album came out near Black Friday in 2003, when sales were ~50% higher), more critical acclaim, a more successful tour, two worldwide hits (BTW and TEOG, which was bigger than 'Everytime' according to Mediatraffic, the source you are all using). 'Toxic' was a huge deal and had a bigger impact than anything on BTW, but still it was outperformed by 'Born This Way' (single), and it's the only thing ITZ era has on BTW era. The plain truth. Seems like you are all blinded by the 'BTW era was a mess' bandwagon. It was, still its overall numbers are more impressive.

Britney's star was fading big time and Gaga's wasn't......?
ITZ actually helped Britney's popularity with the general public whereas BTW practically destroyed Gaga's.

And even the most inflated Britney statistics had her at 7-7.5M in 2008. Born This Way the song took more #1s than all of the singles off of Britney's album put together. Even Judas and The Edge of Glory reached the top 10 and top 5 in more countries than Everytime and Me Against The Music, and in about the same amount as Toxic. ITZ was the 13th best-selling album WW in the first 12 months of its release, while Born This Way was second. The Born This Way Ball will be far, far bigger than the associated In The Zone. Such laziness in just acting like In The Zone was bigger because we like to say Born This Way is a flop to make everyone else feel better.

DEATH @ BTW selling as much as ITZ. This whole post is a mess as usual.
After your failed predictions for Believe and disgustingly delusional brags you should probably take a break from debates for a while

She really made sure she was everywhere. At the end of the day, something as just off with that era.

"Toxic" was released during a non-digital era . . thats the reason you may find incredible old songs like "Toxic" , "Crazy in love" etc .. with lower sales than a lot current songs.
and "BTW" sales weren't impressive .. the album had no longevity at all.
and It doesn't matters if "TEOG" was bigger than "Everytime" .. all 3 singles of "ITZ" were bigger than "Judas", "You & I" and "Marry the night"

I said outperformed, not outsold. It was number one on the WW chart for 7 weeks, and was the sixth best-selling single if the year.

ah Ok cool... Well all "ITZ" singles spent multiple weeks at #1 on the Mediatraffic chart ... Just "MATM" charted for 5 weeks at #1....
and BTW... "Toxic" was the biggest female selling single of the year of its release ... and the
5th most successful single overall of 2004 according to mediatraffic

Toxic alone outperformed the Born This Way era. End of thread.

Toxic was the biggest single WORLDWIDE by a female on 2004, Born This Way wasn't.
Yes, Born This Way sold more, but we're on the peak of the digital era where you can get a song for $1 with just one click.
Toxic's impact, influence, being #1 at more than 25 countries, and GRAMMY AWARD. >>>>

ITZ only sold 7.5 million in 2003? When Britney actually had good performances and promoted her stuff? With a huge hit like Toxic?

Actually those are my numbers (7.5M) because I've always liked to be very raw and realistic with sales .... but there are other official sources that state "In the zone" has sold 10M copies. (more than "The Fame" before the re-release).
and it didn't sell that in 2003.... the album was released by the end of 2003 (november).. which means big part of the sales comes from 2004.
