You are aware that for her last 2 albums she was under heavy control by Epic Records? Hence the random collabs with Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, etc. The first album was sabotaged by former Epic Records president Amanda Ghost, whose tactics were so bad that she was fired from her post.
After blowing all of the money on promoting "She Wolf", Epic Records gave very little for "Sale El Sol", especially because they knew her contract would end immediately after. That's the reason why Jaume De Laiguana is the director for every single video except for "Addicted To You", which was funded by Roc Nation.
I agree that neither album is particularly good (I would actually never recommend either album), especially all those horrid El Cata tracks on "Sale El Sol", but you should consider that other factors played a heavy role in the type of music that ended up on the albums and the songs that were promoted. I think that by the time "Sale El Sol" was released she was just trying to appease Epic Records, not cause any problems, and finish her contract.
