I can't believe people are comparing GGGB to TD.
GGGB wins in every single way, it's not like people will remember California Girls or any other song.
The album made her a global superstar, everybody praised that album.
People have grown up with her. It's been two years since TD. A lot of
people will remember Katy Perry when they think of pop music at this time in their life.
The obvious choice. GGGB ***** on TD's existence. Even the fillers of GGGB **** on the majority of Perry's singles and the singles from GGGB **** on Katy's entire discography.
Sales? So The Best Damn Thing, Under My Skin and Come Away With Me are more sucessful eras than Teenage Dream. Umbrella isn't a classic song.

So Katy..
A smash movie?
Teen choice awards can't be taken serious
Yes it would be sad if she didn't after trying so hard

TD easily.
GGGB was a good era, but when compared to huge eras like TFM, TD, TEOM, Breakaway etc it's like a medium sized era, not nearly as big.

I think they're a lot of silly, delusional stans here overhyping the success of "Umbrella." Both are amazing eras. I don't think anyone can call it for sure but to make vastly ignorant comments like "Umbrella" is more memorable than all of the Teenage Dream singles. Really? - _ -
Please tell me, just how many of you were following music when GGGB was released?
Just tell me. Then you could really fairly judge.

What kind of low grade crack? Honey boo boo, just cuz you were an embryo when GGGBsus was released doesn't mean the rest of the world was too. I happened to be in high school and fully aware of who Rihanna was while Katy Perry was a nobody going by Kate Hudson trying to make it as a Christian musician. It's been 5 years now and all of the singles from GGGB still sound fresh and were considered forward sounding for its time. Meanwhile, the monotonous dribble from TD sound all the same, created for the radio and has set no trends nor has it spurned anything iconic as Umbrella. The only things that will be remembered from the TD era is Katy managing to tie MJ's record, her Firework 'performance' at the AMAs and her 'performance' of WA at the BB music awards.

Well that's nice. Fair enough, but why are you coming for the weakest
points in my argument? I think that says enough.

It's set many trends. Look at all the popular songs right now and many of them
are influenced by the sound on TD. California Gurls was iconic. Firework was iconic.
Hell even Peacock could be iconic in another way.

Delusional at its finest say what?
Songs are influenced by the sound on TD? Examples please?
CG is iconic? It is the lessor version of Tik Tok. I'll eat my left **** if anyone agrees with your statement.
Firework is iconic? Nothing about that song is memorable except for the fact that she shot lights from her titties, which coincidentally, was already done by GaGa.
Peacock is iconic? It's only iconic to the homos who like to say the word '****.'
Katy has not and probably will not give us anything even remotely close to the quality of music Rihanna has given us. GGGB ***** on Katy's existence. Case closed.
I knew including Peacock would get a lot of you.
It's fun to do this, you know.
I'm not that delusional.
Of course Umbrella is more iconic than California Gurls or Peacock.
But on a serious note I think GGGB and TD's successes are very comparable,
and they've outdone each other in different aspects.
