If u compare Janet's 80s/90s tours to Britney's 2000s tours, Janet's touring gross would have to be inflated to 2012 and I'm sure no one want to see that They're around the same total number.

Janet is still capable in her 40s and miles past her peak to perform circles around Britney. Janet has a better voice even after debuting over a decade before Britney. Janet has ability to act and a successful movie career. She provides some of the most celebrated mainstream material from the 90s. Janet is and will always be better than Britney which is why Britney looked up to her before she went loco.

Tbh that's all that matters. Janet was at her peak before Britney debuted so record sales aren't a factor. Janet has an overall better career. I'd even go as far to say Janet was offered the X-factor spot first and turned it down.

According to mediatraffic decade chart and billboard decade chart (reliable offical sources) Stripped never outsold "Britney (2001)"

Avril had big sales with her debut, but she didn't earn as much as britney touring.

Britney remained as the most powerfull pop-star (earnings, sponsorships, tour grossings, media interest, album sales, album chart positions, relevance, the whole package) for like 5-6 years seriously.

Britney ruled pop music for 5 or 6 years.. and everyone knows that ... Actually Britney ended as the Best selling female artists of the 00s Worldwide .... janet never had the chance to be the queen of a decade like "Madonna" , "Mariah" and "Britney" did in 80s, 90s and 00s,

So? I didn't know what was popular on ATRL translated to real life? Janet's four great albums are critically acclaimed, and are known to be some of the best Pop albums... ever. Most Pop music critics/fans recognize her as very important.
