Maybe he's not more popular because his music isn't that good people don't care for it. This is just personal experience, but at my junior prom, the DJ put on "For Your Entertainment" and the dancefloor cleared before the chorus and the DJ said "Woah, I've never seen the dancefloor clear so fast" and changed the song. It's not about who he is or what he is, it's about the music, in my eyes.

"For Your Entertainment" is one of his worst tracks. Either way I never said you all had to like his music but you are all so quick to say it's "trash" and "horrible". Almost vomit-inducing. Yet some of your faves got slammed by the critics harder than he did.

Who cares what the critics say? I'm allowed to dismiss Adam's music as trash and still love music that the critics say are trash.

ATRL pays male artists dust. They'd rather listen to a woman talking about her "birthday cake".

But it kinda makes you look like a hypocrite. But either way I respect your opinion. My issue here is that if this was a Nicki Minaj thread and I called her music TRASH you would all be reporting my ass.

I would report you faster than I could click my mouse. But she isn't a good example, she gets dragged so hard. I love her though.

I don't understand how it makes me a hypocrite to like Nicki Minaj and dislike Adam based on their music. Even if it was based on their personalities, I much prefer Nicki's to Adam's. That's just what I think, so of course I'm not going to praise Adam if I don't like his music, it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that he's gay.
People bash Nicki and everyone's faves all the time. If you go in some artist's base thread and start talking ****, of course you're going to be reported. But in a discussion about why people don't listen to Adam's music, why he isn't liked, it's okay to state your unfavorable opinion.

Hardly. You can't in all honesty say that what he's saying doesn't hold some truth to it.
Also, I'd hardly call Adam a flop. Just because someone doesn't sell as much as Britney, Gaga, Bey, Katy, etc. doesn't make them a flop. And he's definitely one of the more successful artists to come out of Idol.

I agree.
What he said had some points, but I don't think this is entirely the case.

I'm gay, but I HATE his image. His music is alright, but I cringe everytime I see him in one of those skin tight glittery outfits.
Why am I gonna worship someone who is going to further stereotype gays to be nothing but make-up loving drag queens, when I'm gay and the total opposite from that.

And this is exactly the problem he is discussing. You're a Britney fan, and the total opposite of her as well but that hasn't stopped you from supporting her.
You're not supporting him because of who he is as a person, and that's a flamboyant gay male, not the merit of his music.
And on another note, his music isn't even bad, I mean If I Had You, Whataya Want From Me, For Your Entertainment, and Better Than I Know Myself could have been sung by any of the pop girls, and the girls wouldn't get half as much flack as he has gotten. Some of those songs even were meant for female popstars, and two of them borrow riffs from other female popstar songs (If U Seek Amy and Hungover). People like to act like he makes crap like Jeffree Star or some ****, he is working with the same people all the other girls have worked with, and would be beloved if it was found in any of their discographies.

People are never going to admit it though. Sure he had a lot of bad songs on FYE but there were some legit amazing ones too. If Katy Perry had sung If I Had You, everybody here would be praising it. If Rihanna had sung Better Than I Know Myself everyone and their grandma would have been requesting it on the radio. Adam's music is only a very small, miniscule part of the issue, and nobody's ever going to admit that.

I hope you're aware of how this makes you seem like a self-hating homosexual.
Stereotypes only exist because we allow them to. Adam Lambert wearing what he wants to wear and what he feels comfortable wearing is not him furthering a stereotype. YOU are the one furthering a stereotype by allowing society to tell you what a gay man should and should not be. There are different types of gay men (and people in general). Some gay men just so happen to love wearing spandex and glitter makeup. That doesn't make him a stereotype, you do.
If you think what Adam Lambert does make you look bad, then you must not be very comfortable with your own image. You're going to think this way until you stop caring what total strangers say and do. If you're not a makeup-loving "drag queen", then why should it bother you that some gay men are?

But this one will get pages long with a lot of people leaving flamebait and calling him out as "boring" or talking about how much he sucks and NOTHING will be done about it.
This site sometimes

It makes ATRL look kinda sexist. I notice that the male artists don't get the same amount of respect as female artists in here. For example, when the Grammys aired, I've seen comments from some members calling The Beach Boys and Paul McCartney old, but if that was Madonna or some older female artist, I'm sure reports would be handed out.

Maybe some gay people are against the idea of supporting a gay male pop star who represents all the stereotypes that while, yes, existent in the gay community, also cast a distorted view of gay people and lead to a lot of the homophobia experienced around the world.

Elton John, Freddie Mercury, George Michael and many more disagree Adam.
