It's obvious that Telephone would have been bigger with Britney. Britney is a digital force in her first weeks out. Beyonce isn't really a huge digital seller, she always needs an enormous amount of radio airplay in order to sell significant amounts. Britney however doesn't need much airplay to sell hugely when she first comes out.

It was the best collaboration at that time and Britney wouldn't have added anything. She would make it worse like she made S&M worse.
