I think the main problem Gaga had was that massive beginning with TF/TFM it's only down from there and in fact only few popstars after such gigantics first eras get to have longevity, Gaga didn't capitalize on her momentum very well and she lost a lot of CASUAL fans. That's where the issue relies, she needs to get the general public on board again and that will be hard/difficult thing to do.
Usually when people say Gaga, they say Poker Face, Just Dance, or very rarely Bad Romance.
That's a huge lie.
"Born This Way" is a signature song for her too, even if it's not so much the song itself, but the hype and the fact that "born this way" became a meme because of her.
I never understood why people thought she would last so long like madonna. I think Madonna had a very commercial appeal and knew what music to make that the public would eat up, and I think GaGa is more the type of artist that will take risks which the public wont enjoy.
I love them both! I hope gaga DOES last as long as madonna, but based on the type of artist she is- Its unlikely. And its not necessarily a bad thing. As long as she stays true to herself I'm happy.
But...Madonna did take risks with her music. what are you talking about?
Madonna's work ethic is pretty unique. I think few people could last as long as she has. I mean, most 20-30 year old female Pop singers already have a hard time staying in shape. Could you see them being as fit as Madonna when they are 53? Doubtful.
Lady Gaga might still be around making music at 53, but I don't know if she would be as appealing of a package by that age. The Pop industry is very visually oriented and will continue to be. WIll she be able to maintain her image and physical appearance for 27 more years? That's really hard to guess.
