Grammys and awards in general don't equal talents. Diana Ross herself never won a Grammy, and many other legendry artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, The Queen, etc...Tell me, do you think "Who let the dogs out" was a grammy worthy? lol
At least, she has won other great awards such as the world music awards, american music awards, billboard, etc...
Sandra Bullock won an Oscar after 40 years of acting, again, that doesn't mean she wasn't a talented artist or never had hit movies.
Jen is an ALMA winner, has sold more than 950 million movies, #1 box office movies, one of the highest paid actresses, she was once the highest paid latin actress, and so on... So please!

This is getting stupid.
950 million movies, bitch that ain't her movies?! An album is the artists' product. A movie belongs to the company and the many actors in it. You can't compare Sandra Bullock, an amazing actress, to J.LO, someone who does everything mediocrely.

Her box office gross is over a billion now. and that amazing actress Sandra won an oscar at the age of 40. not that it adds so much to her but still, it took her that long to win that award when she's a full time actress.
Shakira's had some few hits over the years, i cant recall her last hit but whatever.
JLo was in the top 10 in the billboard 100 for several weeks. and her song was the biggest song by a female in 2011. more recent than anything. when is Shakira proving her longevity?

So Jlo gets lucky with that hit last year but how long had it been before OTF since she had a hit or relevance outside of the Bronx, let alone Globally?  Pushing back of albums and flops where all I remember of Jen Jen before OTF. Shakira's last Global smashes where in 2010 with Waka Waka then followed by Loca, which was successful in several markets, even non Latin markets. `

Good attempt at acting oblivious to the existence of "Waka Waka."
Shakira has been releasing albums since she was 14. She is 35 now. I think that speaks for her longevity.

J.LO didn't have longevity, she had a flop career and an extension of her 15-minutes of fame because of Pitbull and a re-used song.
Pitbull paving the way for washed up has-beens with kids to feed. Shakira's last spanish album outsold Jennifer's last english album in the US 
Oh and J.LO didn't have the biggest of a female in 2011, that belongs to Adele. :roll eyes: Even Pitbull had a bigger hit that year than OTF.

Like it or not. Pitbull did nothing for the song, Jen did everything to make OTF such a smash hit, if not, the song would take off since the day 1. But US radios are agiest, that's why it took time.

I sound like i hate J-Lo, i actually like her lots. She just cant hold a candle next to Shakira's self-paved music career. I dont hear the new crop of latin girls saying how Jlo influenced them.. I do hear Shakira mentioned as role-model though. Ask Selena Gomez.

and  at Shakira being in music that long and only gettin her breakthrough a year after JLO thank you.

Shakira got her breakthrough until 2001 in the US and WW cause that's when she started making music in english.
Before that she was already succesful in latin markets for her music in spanish. Common sense
