Yes, they would. But COLDPLAY fans would hate that too! I'm not saying it's fair or logical, it's just that's the way rock fans are. No one is saying that this is a bad move for Rihanna, or that she's undeserving of performing with the band. All I'm saying is fans of Coldplay will most likely not enjoy this news. It's not like they're Nickleback (who get rocks pelted at them at festivals) or something.

First of all, y'all have to stop acting like Grammys offer some sort of validity nowadays, same with Billboard charts and album sales. This is a different musical era and strict genre rules don't really apply anymore.

And who gives a **** what Coldplay fans will think or what Rihanna fans will think? You'll hear the song, you'll either love it, like it, hate it or have no strong feelings for it whatsoever. Either way, it won't be worth getting all hot and bothered about.

I don't see why this collaboration has people so upset. I'm sure someone will cut all of that braying out of the song and you'll have your own little Rihanna-free version of the song, which sounds promising.

Rihanna is the perfect match for Coldplay. As we've already seen with her other collaborations, she brings an anthemic quality with the addition of her vocals - and that's what they're really big on. Out of all the popstars atm, she also probably the "coolest" or most hip imo. I saw some people arguing about Gaga some pages back, and while I'm sure a song between them would be fine, she's kinda viewed as a cliche of sorts in the alt-community as of late. Maybe if this had been 2009, it would've been more fitting....

Anyway, listening to the live version..the chorus is pretty epic.
