Haley will fight for material that suits her voice and style.

Haley Reinhart is a fighter! She’s thrilled to be signed to Interscope records, but she plans to fight the powers that be for her vision if she has to.

In this Idols Live backstage interview from the Gwinnett arena in Duluth, GA yesterday, Haley says, “I’m not trying to rush everything just to get something out. I’d rather make something right…I want it to be something I’m really proud of and that defines me. I’ll probably have to fight my way in, and really just stress ‘this is the direction I want to go’ because I know it’s not the general pop style…I don’t think any of the fanbase would expect me to come out with something like that. It should be really interesting.”

Go Haley go. Season 9 runner up, Crystal Bowersox won many of her battles with Jive last year–releasing the single she preferred, recording songs she’d written without fancy co-writes–but it remains to be seen if she’ll record another album on Sony.

Let’s see how Haley fares in her battles with Interscope. It should be interesting, indeed!

Hopefully dont want generic songs means catchy but quality ala adele. I want haley to do good and weall know that catchy is what people like.

Also, I want her to do something that's right up her alley, but I hope when she says "not the general Pop style" that doesn't translate to "NEVER ****ING PLAYED ON THE RADIO EVER", and that "not trying to rush" doesn't translate to "taking a freaking decade to release".

I don't think thats what she means

I just think she doesn't want general run of the mill pop songs like say.... Pink or Kelly Clarkson, or Katy Perry.

I see her with similar material to Adele, Duffy, Amy, Grace Potter, Obscure Gaga etc.

And yes, I hope she doesn't take forever with this.

My patience will wear thin by December.

I think Interscope is keen on releasing it before the Holidays though.
