Honestly, I think she can do it! I know HDD predicted 450-750k, but they also predicted 700k for Taylor before the album had even been released too. Plus, Taylor also released her album on Monday too. Good luck, Stefani!

It's the label discounting the album. The label has licensing. Amazon can't sell or discount an album without permission from the label.

I know I'm probably wrong, but after a deal has been made with a retailer like Amazon, isn't it up to them with how they sell it? Cause like with... Wal-Mart for example, I would imagine that they buy the albums from the label in agreements and such and after that and Wal-Mart alone is responsible for selling them all, no matter what price or anything. I'm sure it's different with online retails, but it can't be the complete opposite, right?

If you remember during the Black Friday weekend Def Jam had all their new releases on sale for .99 on Amazon.

Of course a record label can make deals/discounts. I'm just saying the retailers capable of setting it if there's no set limit.

Seriously though, that's false. Retailers are perfectly allowed to operate at a loss. Interscope still gets their cut like the customer paid full price; Amazon just takes the hit and hopes that the deal will lead to increased company loyalty.
