I wish you would have reworded your opinion, to avoid sounding like the typical, "pressed" Gaga stan. That being said, I agree with Wick in that, it does have an air of genericism to it. It sounds nothing like Ke$ha or Katy Perry and although Britney Spears may have never ventured down this road in her music, that does not suggest the path hasn't already been traveled; it sounds like an everyday Kylie Minogue track. "Inside Out" has an exciting edge along with provocative production and intriguing lyrics -- it's just a far more interesting track.

I don't feel Wick is "pressed" for not being impressed with a song in "21 seconds." Louie, one can easily argue that you're blind for giving yourself over completely to a short snippet. Music instantly grabs you, or it doesn't.

I love how, literally, everything, everything, is immediately called a generic Dr. Luke piece of trash, regardless of whether or not the track in question was even produced by Dr. Luke or sounds anything like his typical stuff. This isn't inherently Dr. Luke-ish, but you throw a dance pop beat (and it's very obvious that the usual Dr. Luke sounds aren't being used in the creation of this beat) and it's immediately called derivative of Ke$ha. I will slice off the ears of the next person who says it is. The witch hunt for Ke$ha copy-cat songs has gone too far. It's insanity.

Ah-oh. This brings up memories of that "blasphemous" thread. Copy and paste:
This question is blasphemous, but I can't help but wonder, if there was no successful "TiK ToK" or "Take It Off," would Katy Perry's sophomore album have had a different sound? Would Britney Spears and her team never have attempted to push the envelope with "Hold It Against Me?" It feels like Ke$ha, pop princess provocateur, was an experiment, and her "get real or f*ck off" lyrics -- with hard-hitting productions to match the sentiment -- struck some chord on the music scene, leading the way for other females to go with a more aggressive, beat-thumping, end-of-the-world type of pop.
We can all agree Britney is not to be touched, or looked at directly in the eyes, but Ke$ha -- in my humble opinion, of course -- played a major role in leading the way for a female pop revolution.
