Although it sickens me, where will Yeah 3X be submitted - Pop or Dance?
And can anyone one stand up to Taylor's upcoming slaughterhouse in the country field? Will NARAS get as budget as they did this year in attempts to block her?

Five stronger, much more Grammy-sensible options; people thought Eminem had it rough this year.

Sadly agree with this, but I do feel like he's a shoe-in for more than a couple of Grammy's regardless. He does have his own little story built up with the Grammy's and they already gave him the cold shoulder in 2009.
I do hope that Radiohead wins this year, and that eventually Ye becomes the Radiohead of the Grammy's lol

Martina needs to release something good. After her performance the other night, the voters might be ready to embrace her. I guess I'm the only one who thinks Taylor should submit her material to POP.

I would love for Jazmine to win, but with her "break" along with Bey. coming back I find it highly unlikely. Her album was one of the best R&B, if not all-around, album of the year though.

It'll be Pop, I can almost guarantee it. With his "comeback" doing pretty well, it would only be crazy for it not be nominated in the bigger category.

"Rolling in the Deep" should win Pop Female right now, though. I am so burnt out on "Jar of Hearts." I want to hear something else from Ms. Perri.

Ohhh I forgot about "Jar of Hearts". Even though RinD will most likely win, JoH is actually a very good contender.

Okay, let's discuss the specter of Amy Winehouse. A lot of big ifs, but IF Amy releases this year and IF her voice isn't to hell and IF the material's good and IF she can be relatively coherent, I think we found the biggest obstacle to Adele's domination.

They'll come from these seven:
Lady Gaga - Born This Way
Adele - 21
Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Taylor Swift - Speak Now
Radiohead - The King of Limbs
Bruno Mars - Doo-Wop and Hooligans
Beyoncé - Untitled
Already better than last year. Who takes it????
|
Hmmm so far I would say Taylor due to the amazing response she got, Kanye sold well but like said in here a rap album has never won in this category, and as for the rest we'll have to wait and see. Idk bou Bruno since he didn't sell as well as the rest of these but I really think it will be between Bee, GaGa, Taylor and Adele.

The more I think about it, I foresee Taylor getting the Norah 03-04 treatment- album that sells a million in its first week, relegated to its genre category.
AOTY will probably be Adele, Bey, Gaga, Radiohead and Kanye. CAN YOU EVEN???
And girls - who's making it in to Pop Female?
If the eligibility period was ended today, the nominees would probably be:
Adele - Rolling in the Deep
Lady Gaga - Born This Way
Katy Perry - Firework (which I think makes it into ROTY, a la Irreplaceable)
Pink - ****in' Perfect
Who gets that fifth slot? And can any of these ladies be taken out by Bey, or Tay, or Kelly C? Or someone else?
|
This one is def between Adele, Bee and GaGa as the other ladies have never won in this category except Kelly.

That's a good prediction.
In fact, I think as of now, SOTY and ROTY would look like this:
SOTY
Adele - Someone Like You
Bruno Mars - Grenade
Mumford & Sons - The Cave
Pink - Perfect
5th nominee
ROTY
Adele - Rolling in the Deep
Bruno Mars - Grenade
Mumford & Sons - The Cave
Katy Perry - Firework
going out on a, but Kanye West featuring Rihanna - All of the Lights
But lets talk about Best New Artist, now that Bruno is ineligible. Nicki is obviously the biggest lock for a nod, and I think The Band Perry takes the obligatory country spot. I know there's still seven months of eligibility to go, but are there any new artists on the horizon to fill these three slots? And who gets the obligatory British spot?
|
True Nicki will nominated but I guarantee she won't win due to rap artists never winning this category.

HMM, now that's something we would actually have to see play out before giving an opinion. Because as much as I'm loving Adele and her success, Amy did it first and if she hasn't damaged herself too greatly, could do it again. My vote still would go to Adele though

Jessie J might come snatch the crown with "Who You Are." She's giving me "Chasing Pavements" teas.

I completely forgot about Katy. She may not be nominated, but with the success and impact of "firework" if could may well be nominated come next year.

Lady Gaga - Born This Way
Adele - 21
Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Taylor Swift - Speak Now
Beyoncé - Untitled
Hope it's not THAT predictable.

Wow, Kelly, Gaga, Beyonce, Pink. Katy, Perry, Christina Perri, Norah, Adele, and potentially Amy.
Pop Female is STACKED.
Will Rihanna ever get a look in?

I think he's a lock for the rap categories, as always. He dodged a bullet this year by not having to go against Em and Jay.

And are they done with Avril and Britney (in everything but Dance Recording?)
Seems that way.
