I mean my mum is half black and we used to spent a lot of time with her family during holidays and some of counsins used to play with me a lot when I was kid etc... so yes
Not really. My early schooling was mostly white people with a handful of Asians like me. However, in High school there was a black guy in my class and we were really good friends. He's now living in America and works as a pastor. I miss him.
In terms of my local community like my neighbourhood, we were the only Asians amidst a flock of white people and we were regularly abused racially.
When i was in primary school it was full of white people
High Scool was full of white people
College was full of white people
Univerisity luckily i went to Metropolitan so there were loads of black people
+ i grew up in Whitefield manchester a predominantly white area, my current area is still predominately white.
My community is mostly white. My second family though is my best friend and she is proudly African American. I love them so much. I don't think I would be half the person I am without them in my life.
Honestly, my skin might be white( i guess?), but my country's mentality and culture is more similar to Black culture than 'white' culture(I know that's not a thing). Like, I grew up with Black Culture. Whether it was TV shows(Prince of Bel Air, Family Matters e.t.c), movies(Barbershop, any Wayans Brothers movie), music(hip hop/r&B/rap).
I grew up in southern california so there were people of almost every race/ethnicity near me but the city I grew up in was also significantly more white than surrounding cities/areas.
But that's mostly what Australia is so its to be expected I suppose.
