But isn't it...sad that Nicole has more UK fans than her native country? I'm asking you humbly, cause I would feel kind of left out and frustrated, because my artist decides to scrap material every 15 minutes.

Anastacia also never really got embraced by her native country, yet was able to build a pretty succesful careerpath for herself on focusing on the rest of the world. It is frustrating the US has a very negative stigma about her. But most of her albums got shelved because a single didn't caught on in the US. She easily could have released her albums globally, and get a succesful career out of it, but she rather likes it messy with focusing on the UK, than try US, just to either shelve an album, US edition or even cut her era's short. While loads of EU countries, and AUS/NZ have showed so much potential in her, but she ignores those markets. She really has problems with 'failing' which makes her postpone and shelve so much music, it's sad and frustrating to see, while if she would look around her, she would see the world is bigger than the US. I get she wants to be succesful in her country, but not all succes is like a rocketlaunch, like PCD was.

Well, that's kind of an overstatement. She had a big hit with her first group and then her solo career isn't as much of a disaster as it may look. She had plenty of UK hits and Don't Hold Your Breath - Right There was a decent 1-2 punch globally, with the latter even doing a little something in the US (after tons of promo, of course). She just followed that up with nothing but chaos, cancellations and confusion (J-esper has summed it all up). The only time she *almost* got it together since then is Run. Cute UK promo, Epic US making a (minimal) effort to launch it in the US...

Adrienne Bailon (3LW / Cheetah Girls), who's also shelved like 2 albums and has been delaying her solo work for ages explained that it's because she's scared to fail. "I'd rather my music not come out than for it to come out and be bad". I could definitely apply that to the Nicole's career in the last 5 years. And I also think she's battling with some form of depression. I get that a lot from her interviews. Sometimes, when the topic is her music, she looks and sounds almost defeated. I don't know, maybe I shouldn't be trying to interpret that. Rooting for her anyway!
