I just had to comment on this one even though it's not my time to comment yet. It's because of Selena f#!@$% GOMEZ!! The write-up is sincere and amazing. Yes, a lot of people underestimate her, but when they find what's inside the sweetheart, they'll give her respect. I've been there.
Love the other albums as well. Seeing "It's OK" on your favorite tracks for Cee-Lo's is cool. <3

4/4 Cee-Lo's album really is incomparable with his past work, yes. **** You is a masterpiece!
B.o.B being a collabo machine truly made this album successful, true. Airplanes can attest to that.

JoJo
wasn't giving anything for that mixtape AT ALL but it turned out to be better than some full-length albums by some high profile artists.

Reeces' Best Of 2010: Top 30 Albums (20-18)
20. Usher, Raymond V. Raymond
Standouts: 'Lil' Freak', 'OMG', 'Guilty', 'There Goes My Baby', 'Foolin' Around'
i think I was one of the few people that truly enjoyed 'Here I Stand', this new record is at right about the same level, if not better. 'Raymond v. Raymond' has a few songs about Usher's highly publicized divorce, and there also a few songs about clubbing and simply enjoying life, which I assume that's what he is trying to do now that he is a single man. Usher not only exposes his personal business, but he also takes a big risk, and experiments with a new sound, dance pop. 'OMG' featuring Will.I.Am has Usher singing over a eurodance beat about a one night stand, and it goes to show taking risks sometimes pays off, one of the catchiest singles of the year, it's almost impossible to take the hook out of your head. 'Lil' Freak' Collaboration with hip-hop diva Nicki Minaj is the highlight of the album, Nicki delivers one of her strongest contributions as a feature, but Usher doesn't let her steal the spotlight, he remains the star on this one. 'There Goes My Baby' proves he remains one of the greatest R&B vocalists of our generation, his falsetto shines on this one. He sets the record straight about his divorce with buzz single 'Papers', without a doubt the most revealing track in the album. Other great tracks worth mentioning are the T.I. assisted 'Guilty' and the flirtatious 'So Many Girls'. In this record, Usher makes the choice not to stay true to his R&B sound, instead he takes influences from other types of music, the result is one of the most enjoyable albums of the year.
19. Maroon 5, Hands All Over
Standouts: 'Misery', 'Stutter', 'Don't Know Nothing', 'Give A Little More', 'Get Back In My Life'
'Hands All Over' has to be one of the most consistent records of the year, their sound pretty much remains the same, but it's Adam Levine's take on every track that makes the difference. Lead single, 'Misery', a track concerning romantic obsession, also starts off the album; Adam Levine's sings this one with a feeling of desperation and agony, such a brilliant song. The catchy 'Stutter' has a pop sound that radio would eat up if it ever gets the single treatment, it would've been a much better second single choice, 'Give A Little More' is equally good, it just lacks something that prevented it from becoming a huge hit. 'Don't Know Nothing' sounds like a tune from the Motown era with a modern touch, while Adam's high voice sounds perfect in the up-tempo 'Get Back In My Life' and the heartfelt 'Never Gonna Leave This Bed' and 'Just A Feeling'. The only time Maroon 5 loses their signature sound is in the final track, a country/pop collaboration with Lady Antebellum, one of the weakest tracks in the album, but at least they stepped out their comfort zone for once. Maroon 5 is one of those bands with a very defined sound, this album is not too different from their past records, but I'm not complaining, since I love how unique their sound is. One of my favorites of the year, for sure.
18. Shakira, Sale El Sol
Standouts: 'Antes De Las Seis', 'Gordita', 'Sale El Sol', 'Loca', 'Lo Que Mas'
After making one of the best pop records of the decade, Shakira makes the decision to cater her Hispanic fanbase with a Spanish album, but she doesn't forget about everybody else, this album also has a few songs in English, or Spanglish I should say. The thing that amazes about Shakira is her versatility, in this album she experiments with tropical sounds, catchy first single 'Loca' and the irresistible party starter 'Addicted To You' are examples of this new exciting sound. At the same time Shakira proves she is a great vocalist and nails the slow tracks, she sounds fantastic in 'Antes De Las Seis' and 'Lo Que Mas', the emotion she puts into both tracks is truly admirable. The soft rock vibe in 'Sale El Sol add something different to the record while Shakira also goes urban with the simple yet brilliant 'Gordita'. While the first half of the album is just perfection, the second half has its moments too, in 'Rabiosa', Shakira flirts with Pitbull as she sings and moans over the sound of trumpets, and she makes a smart move by putting her worldwide smash and Soccer World Cup anthem 'Waka Waka'. This record is a mixture of sounds, one different than the other, but at the end Shakira is responsible for making one of the most exciting albums of the year, she is a true artist and I'm desperately looking forward to her next English album or whatever she does.
