I loved the Confessions singles but didn't get into an album until when Hard Candy came out. From there onwards I've loved and respected M highly.

I've always known of her. I remember in grade school my Spanish teacher had us watch Evita, but it wasn't until 2013 that I delved into her music and career. Now she is one of my all-time faves.

I can't remember ever not knowing or even not loving her. I became aware at a very young age that she's had tremendous social significance and cultural impact, too. My mother is so not the type of woman who idolizes stars, so my appreciation has always been of my own volition, but I know she listened to Madonna sometimes when I was in the womb.

The real obsession didn't happen till surprisingly late, however. I think I was at first intimidated by the massive legacy; she seemed like a universe too vast to even tackle, but I guess all roads do lead to Madonna so it did happen eventually. She's a big part of my life today.
