Which song on Rhythm Nation is a genuinely, remembered classic? I grew up hearing songs from Like A Prayer everywhere, even before I knew who Madonna was. Same way Always Be My Baby, Hero, I Will Always Love You, Greatest Love Of All (just to name a few) were songs that were lodged in my memory, before I ever knew there existed human beings named Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston.

Which song on Rhythm Nation (or even from Janet's entire discography) can be said to have achieved that level of ubiquity? Why do you people insist on talking like you actually experienced anything of this woman's career beyond what you've learned from wikipedia? (And by the way, no matter how many times I wikipedia + youtube the songs on Rhythm Nation, I can never seem to remember anything beyond the title track. But that's just me.)

The woman was popular during her time and that's all well and good, but why the consistent attempts to make her out to be something she isn't? If she is such a legend, why not rest easy with that knowledge? Why the ceaseless attempts to force people to accept it too? The obsession is truly bizarre.

All of the singles, even the non-singles on Rhythm Nation gets airplay where I live. Madonna, however is a non-factor. Guess Like A Prayer wasn't that impactful?

I have never said Madonna is the best singer in the world, and neither has she. but you come here talking about "TALENT" and "MUSICIANSHIP" when you know just as well as I do that when it comes to vocals janet is basically a professional whisperer.
