She along with Jimmy and Terry actually created a new sub-genre of music and you're sitting there calling her a puppet and Madonna a craftsman. I can't. I shouldn't bring race into this but I have to bet you're a white boy.

And the nerve of a Madonna stan to talk about vocal talent. The way ya'll keep proving Chimier and Misanthrope right is just

And the way you're obsessed with MADONNA just because she's white is just

Reported it and sent a message to mods. Only time will tell what they choose to do. Unfortunately I don't have that power, but the nonsense some of you keep spewing is worthy of an argument. So it shall be.
And good deflection by the way. You know im right, I brought up valid points, and you cant respond. So you say this.

Which song on Rhythm Nation is a genuinely, remembered classic? I grew up hearing songs from Like A Prayer everywhere, even before I knew who Madonna was. Same way Always Be My Baby, Hero, I Will Always Love You, Greatest Love Of All (just to name a few) were songs that were lodged in my memory, before I ever knew there existed human beings named Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston.
Which song on Rhythm Nation (or even from Janet's entire discography) can be said to have achieved that level of ubiquity? Why do you people insist on talking like you actually experienced anything of this woman's career beyond what you've learned from wikipedia? (And by the way, no matter how many times I wikipedia + youtube the songs on Rhythm Nation, I can never seem to remember anything beyond the title track. But that's just me.)
The woman was popular during her time and that's all well and good, but why the consistent attempts to make her out to be something she isn't? If she is such a legend, why not rest easy with that knowledge? Why the ceaseless attempts to force people to accept it too? The obsession is truly bizarre.
|
All of the singles, even the non-singles on Rhythm Nation gets airplay where I live. Madonna, however is a non-factor. Guess Like A Prayer wasn't that impactful?

Janet has a self-written #1 on both Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock Chart. She was also nominated for an Oscar as a songwriter. You show your ignorance.

I have never said Madonna is the best singer in the world, and neither has she. but you come here talking about "TALENT" and "MUSICIANSHIP" when you know just as well as I do that when it comes to vocals janet is basically a professional whisperer.
and I only "put janet down" in here because you janet fans are doing it constantly with madonna. I dont even really care about that perfect voice, as long as they dont "sing" like britney and just know how to translate their message with their voice to an audience, Im good.

Well, the thread starter is obviously a troll and says it himself that he would get it closed ages ago which hasn't happened yet so I'm just wondering if we should all believe what he said when he couldn't even do what he say

Because, DEARIE:
#1- POP PERFECTION (you missed the "C") can mean a lot of things. Britney Spears can be considered POP perfection. It doesn't make her talented OR musical.
#2- The nature of POP MUSIC is one that is very IMAGE-based. Again, no correlation with talent or musicianship.
#3- POP MUSIC has no actual musical qualities of its own. It simply takes sounds from everywhere and commercializes them into something palatable for the masses. So "POP PERFECTION" doesn't mean anything, especially when there's been no actual context to what you're saying other than "Madonna is good, Madonna is great, Madonna, Madge, Louise, Ciccone, Maddy, Madonna, Mary, Madonna, Do It With Madonna, Madonna".
#4- See 1, 2 and 3.

Of course. Respond to the flamebait but don't respond to literally a paragraph of valid points that completely disintegrate your own bias.
Janet is not a puppet. Like another user already stated, she can claim a self-written #1, Madonna cannot.
And for the record, not that this should matter, but I support Madonna. Acknowledging Janets influence/impact is not the same as denying Madonnas. You guys are too much.

No one said you did. What I said was you are in NO position to be talking about anyone's vocals, considering how your fav is widely known for being one of the worst singers in the history of popular music.

This is why you cannot be taken seriously. If you're going to discredit someone, just so you can go tit-for-tat, then you shouldn't be discussing at all. Goodbye.
Again, not sure why you're criticizing another artist (Britney) and their singing ability when your fav is no better.

Learn to back your **** up.
Fact is that considering who you stan so hard for you are in no postion to be critisizing anyone's vocal talent of all things.

So the fact that it's "literally a paragraph" makes it more valid?
Is Janet Jackson a dancer? Yes.
Did she whisper over Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis beats? Yes.
Has Madonna written and produced some of the most iconic pop songs in history? Yes.
So, what is the matter?

Madonna has co-written and co-produced iconic pop songs.
Janet has co-written, written, and co-produced iconic pop songs.
Thats the matter.
And the audacity of you bringing up Janets vocals as if Madonna is much more of a vocalist. Jesus.

The only thing you see is what you want to see. What's actually there eludes you. Nothing I said even HINTS at this. So not only are you not that good at reading, but you also don't understand simple concepts and are unable to interpret them. Good to know. Thanks for letting me know not to take you seriously.
