I don't like Justin but why are you all bringing up the Janet stuff when she clearly wanted her nipple exposed on purpose as a publicity stunt but it backfired spectacularly on her. It was her own fault.

I'm so glad he's getting called out for it. He deserves every bit of the backlash that's coming his way. REALLY surprised it's taken this long though.
Now if only they all moved onto Justin Bieber and ended his career for good.........

However, Nick Jonas supporting the gay community is disingenuous, by that, I mean he's supporting—and constantly talking about—the gay community in order to sell himself, to sell singles, to sell albums, to sell concert tickets. Nick Jonas doesn't actually care about the gay community. This is not a radical statement. It's pretty much accepted truth. He only started "caring" when he was releasing an album while simultaneous playing a bisexual character on a television series. It's not hard to do the math, kids. In any case, the Black community needs to eventually focus their attention on him, too, just like JT.

Because he was apart of the publicity stunt as he was the one who pulled it out, and he didn't even come to her defense because his career was just exploding. He was using his white privilege. It's a backlash that has been long coming, and I don't feel a bit sorry for him.
I wish y'all would stop being dumb for a second.

Bieber has done more ridiculous things than Timberlake, so you better shut your mouth up.

Justin Timberlake isn't the reason for your problems. Stop directing your issues at him.
Thankfully this is just the Internet and this isn't a concern in real life, is it? He's not the one discriminating against you at college, university, at work, on the streets, in the law enforcement, in the high courts.
Choose your battles wisely or you will lose the war out of sheer waste of energy and time.

idk, a big pop star being super dismissive in the way that he was still seems problematic to me .. he should have just refrained from saying anything if that's the way he felt and that's the 'problem' here

Cuz JT was the one who exposed it?
The plan originally was to show only a bra anyways. So he ****ed it up.

This is overdramatic and dumb and I'm getting tired of these sensitive girls crying over everything
but Justin probably had it coming. Since somehow his involvement in the 2004 Superbowl has been erased.

I don't feel sorry for him either, I think his music is bland and I don't have a clue why he's had support this long. All I was saying was that Janet tried to be controversial and grab attention and she did, but for all the wrong reasons. Her stunt failed big time. She brought it on herself. Would it have been nice for Justin to defend her? Sure but he was obviously thinking about his own career first.

And while I think the backlash is a bit much over a tweet like that one, I also thought the Janet backlash was unwarranted. At least people didn't forget how he treated Janet during that era.

Janet's backlash was severe because the Whites controlled the media back then, and would drown out opinions from Blacks. Whites control the media today, too, but social media is uncontrolled territory, that's why a Black voice today is the loudest it has been since the '60s Civil Rights Movement (and Whites can't take it and feel smothered by it, hence all of the default "get over it" posts). If Twitter and Facebook and the immediate availability of social media was prevalent during Janet's wardrobe malfunction, I doubt Justin Timberlake's "Teflon" would be 100% effective as it was, probably just 59% effective with all the Black voices chiming in.

She didn't "bring it on herself." SHE HAD HELP.
It would have been nice if Justin wasn't left unscathed because he was the cute new white boy on the block and Janet was an aging black female pop star (a Jackson at that). Only one was left out to dry. But as much as I think "Black Twitter" can be a bit much sometimes, at least I know they wouldn't let something like that happen in 2016.
