It's a gorgeous, emotional song....but let's be real...it's boring as **** and isn't really a song to casually listen to.

We know the real reason of the Bionic singles' underperfomance was the bad promotion.
Not Myself Tonight was released in late March (after being out of the spotlight for 3 years). Then the song had to succeed by its own with no promo and proved radio boycott until the last day of April when the video was relased. The first NMT performance was after 1 month of its release, in a show for old women that don't know Internet.
You Lost Me was shockingly performed in American Idol in May. It wasn't even a single back then, it wasn't even released on iTunes. Afterwards, it was performed several times in the Bionic week, and again, no one knew it was a single. Then, after week from the Bionic week it was disclosed that the YLM was a single, and weeks after, the video was launched, with no more performances.
Besides, Christina only promoted in the US. She never went abroad.
So, RCA sucks big time, as well as Xtina's manager.
Why didn't she pull a normal promotion process? Like Usher, he released OMG on iTunes the same day he performed it in American Idol. Gaga, Katy Perry, Rihanna, even Britney Spears, went to promote in Europe.

That's highly interesting.
I didn't know they used 30 Million when promoting Bionic.
That number was even reported until May...it doesn't make sense at all for the AMA producers to list it as 46 Million and her site to post it as the current numbers.
It boggles the mind.
I hope we get something from Nielsen or at least a complete breakdown from RCA...I've sent them Feedback, I doubt they'll reply but it would be great.

Britney did not promote circus in american idol, oprah etc. etc. She might have promoted it in what news show was that and x factor but they don't have the same audience as big as ai and oprah.
And britney did not promote 3.
So don't bring promotion here cause christina promoted the hell out of bionic.
Pls. stop the lame and untrue excuses. I just can't.

She didn't pull a normal promotion process because it FLOPPED, and they didn't want to waste any more time and money on it. The same happens with movies, they'll promote them at first but if they flop, they pull the plug on the promo. Common sense.
How can people be so blindly, aggressively delusional?
The promoted the living **** out of it in the US, until they realized it was time and money wasted.
With Oprah, American Idol finale, Today Show, Letterman, Regis & Kelly, MTV Movie Awards, Storytellers, countless radio interviews, etc. etc., she sold 237K. And that's the reason the promo stopped, both in the US and abroad.

That's like saying Bionic was a hit because it debuted in the top 3.

Is that an insult? You know I'm right.

Exactly. Christina did a lot of promotion until her label realised it was having no effect on sales. Her fans can't say this record flopped due to a lack of promotion, it was promoted, and NMT was performing solidly on radio up until the point it became clear that nobody liked the song. She flopped because of the poor quality of what she produced.

well thats just sad
just face it that nobody is checkin for Xtina anymore. her appeal and sales from being second place to britney in the bubblegum pop explosion of the late 90s-early 2000's is gone. maybe she can recover, but most people hated NMT and her album was the flop of the century.

She had a huge break, the less thing she could do was to promote decently.
Britney promoted in the US, UK, France, Germany and Japan. Her TV show days before the Circus release was to make people think "Oh, poor Brit, I'm gon' buy her abum". MTV promoted her giving her the VMAs and the opening of the show.

Britney sold, therefore they promoted overseas.
In the US she promoted less than Xtina though.

I really can't at this britney pity thing that was probably fueled from xtina's comment bout britney.
Do you actually believed that people would shell out $100-$300 just to see her in tour?
Well guess what. Who needs our pity now?
