No, they are not. Especially if you consider the relevance of an artist by their streaming numbers in 2016 which are part of the overall sales.
Lady Gaga went straight from modern contemporary act to the sound of a veteran one way too early in her career. Not relevant for the young audience, not played on the radio, relying on her core fanbase and soccer mums with lots of televized promo spots. She should have waited a few more years before attempting this.

Wow so she went from a regular pop girl to a certified legend icon pop culture veteran queen of pop , I agree with you. She took the risk and it paid off, she got the superbowl halftime show , something only legends get, her risk paid off. The girls are shivering

They are decent. It's at 707k WW in pure sales and 1.1m with SPS
Once MR picks up in 2017, it's SPS numbers and pure sales will be good

She went with the sound and marketing of it, not with the actualy legacy. That's the point.

I remember the countless threads predicting for ANTI to do worse than ARTPOP.

She gave up her brand of weird dressing, Red One,... and made the music against everything the public thought she stood for. The radio stopped playing her music and still having enough stans to sell 700+ k.
The day our fave shed off her brand and everything that makes her good. Highly questionable what numbers this small base can pull.

People bouught her singles AND her albums because they were good. Now people buy her albums without any hits on the radio. And not you comparing an established artist like Rihanna with some newcomers. Didn't know she is on the level of Zayn, 5H, Shawn Mendes and the one that sings 7 years. Wow, Navy. Good to know. I'm gonna use it for future references.
EDIT: and now Joanne is selling better than Anti because of the Q4 release? What's your next excuse, Navy? Let's talk about how Rihanna's songs are spammed 24/7 by the radios just like that. People should know she released an album and should buy it but for some reason they don't even after hit after hit after hit.

Honey, 600k people bought Anti in the US, 1.43M bought it worldwide, and that's after 1.47M copies were given away. On top of that the album was streamed 1.3 billion times in the US alone. Andddd on top of that, she's sold 4.1M tracks from ANTI in the US, including two million-sellers, one of them being the best selling female song of the year. Not her fault radios still wanna play her, but don't wanna play the upcoming SB performer, who used to score 3-4 hits per year and visited 1627272 radio stations this year.
Yes, a Q4 release boosts sales, with Black Friday, Christmas and the discounts that come with it. It's nothing new. Rihanna didn't discount Anti once, not even in Q4, and it's currently being sold at a higher price than Joanne.

I actually can't tell you about that since I joined ATRL in late May and wasn't involved in any feud before then.
However, I guess it's been awhile since that happened, and you'd be really lying if you denied the HUGE amount of hate Gaga has been getting in the last few months. Why can't everybody just move on and get along with each other?

Nice excuses, not buying it. Joanne will outsell Anti and Anti was released almost a year ago while Joanne 8 weeks ago and has half of sales WITHOUT A HIT and then there's the SB. I NEVER said it's Rihanna's fault that radios play her. It would be stupid to say that and I'm really glad for her since I was a fan and glad that her fans still hear her music spammed 24/7. It's not a problem AT ALL and it wasn't the point. All in all Joanne sales are very impresive.

Madonna is actually the Queen of Pop, I have to correct you here. But I see you can not counteract my argument anyway.

This is not my opinion. This is a fact for a very long time actually. She is not a veteran legend. she is just sounding like a veteran, For a woman in her early 30's, it's actually a bit of a let down that she sounds soooo, idk flat in terms of production and lyricism. Hell, she sounds way less excited than a woman in her 50's. And the SB, without any shade looks a little bit like a farewell.

They're not excuses, just facts. Clearly you don't know much about all that.
And you shouldn't keep saying that Joanne will outsell Anti... Y'all neverrr learn.
