You can't just blame the music industry. Sure, it's suffering, but this decline has been going on for the past six years and some artists still continue to do well.
The problem with Ke$ha is that people are getting sick of her persona and she didn't come hard with good singles this era to prove them wrong. "We R Who We R" is the best she had to offer? No wonder she's flopping.
BEP's failure is a bigger question mark, but obviously, their first single didn't excite audiences either. It's the oldest rule in the business: release bad music and buyers will stay away. However, they have a much bigger fan base than Ke$ha and coming off such a huge album as "The E.N.D.", I thought they might have a little more residual goodwill on their side.
As for Soulja Boy and Flo Rida, neither one has ever had good album sales. Why are you acting surprised?
And Rihanna is doing just fine. She's probably going to be platinum by the end of the year; no need to stress.
