Deadline is reporting Civil War made 3 million less than estimates on Mother's Day, so $178 million for the weekend. With inflation that means Iron Man 3 made more.

And yet Civil War opened with bigger numbers than BvS (which no one has on hand but looks like 166.1m in the US). Trying to drag the Marvel fans when you have no legs to stand on is cringe.

Civil War is gonna do around Iron Man 3 numbers both in the US & WW, a little bit more on both scenarios probably.

People are forgetting that evenvthough this is a very good film, it's still VERY heavy on knowledge built in previous films. From the get go, if you've only seen The Avengers and Iron Man movies, you'll be kind of lost for big parts of this film.

Imo considering what Age of Ultron did last year and what this is going to do, Marvel has reached saturation point. It can't go much higher than this in audience. Some people are already a bit tired of it all and they are still collecting new fans.

While I was watching Civil War I felt like I was watching the season finale of a 20-episode series. Too many plots the movie assumes you know and too many people who literally just pop out of nowhere and you're supposed to know their backstory(not talking about Black Panther or Spiderman btw)

I liked the movie a lot and I am hardcore DC, so glad the Russos kept the comedy to an uncharacteristic Marvel low, it made the comedic relief more special because it's well spread throughout the film. Not like in Ultron, so cringy.

I hate the Marvel movies with a fiery passion, but people forget this is like the 9032958th movie in the universe, and being able to enjoy this movie thoroughly means having to watch all or almost all of the previous ones. The fact that it's still able to open this big, the 5th biggest opening in history, is v impressive.

Any the movie is already like less than $200M away from outgrossing BvS, and it's only been out 2 weeks (and only 1 in NA).
