Lady Gaga of course. Her lyrics are meaningfull, deep and yet some are simple to fit perfectly.
Lady Gaga is very talented too, but she just started. I expect the lyrics of Born this way too be more meaningful, like Paparazzi and Speechless. Lyrics of songs like Monster and Lovegame do not really make any sense.
Colbie had a massive hit with Bubbly long long before she recorded Breathe for Fearless. Breathe wasn't even a single so how could that give her massive exposure?
Just because you may not have been aware of her before that doesn't mean that she wasn't around and known by many other people.

No way, Mariah is heavily involved with every album she has done. She has many amazing album tracks as well as singles.
