didn't Rihanna used to put out an album every 6 months? Ariana puts out an album every year, so does 1D, so did Justin during his 1st few years. Gaga didn't go 1 year without having at least 3 singles out from 2009- to the end of the Born This Way era.
we can't blame them for trying to make as much money as possible, it is a business after all and artists come and go so they need to strike while they're hot.
there are quite a few Kpop artists that don't have strict release schedules and just put out music when they feel ready. BoA and Wonder Girls are great examples because they also wrote and/or composed pretty much the entirety of their new albums.

i do agree with you that the rollout and release schedules can be problematic though, it must be very intense for the artists since they'll also have solo endeavours too.
