The trends Koreans are on are exports. That's my entire point. On top of that, like I previously said, these current trends are based on previous US trends from the 1990's and late 80's.
And what question? I'm not going to discuss if Kpop cinematography is better than Western cinematography because that's simply a matter of taste, and has nothing to do with the region since there are plenty of talented Korean film-makers, producers, directors, etc. In fact, the best LGBT themed movies I've seen are all Korean. I definitely prefer G-Dragon and CL over 99% of all K-pop artists, and I think both are much better than most US pop and rap stars. However, I don't think a single K-pop artist is better than Beyonce, Lady Gaga, or rapper better than Kanye West or the old guard of authentic 90's rappers from Harlem and LA.
