And TIDAL has shown they don't have to be that close. Spotify has currently showed it has something to worry about by even acknowledging them. That sleep you're talkng about might start becoming something they see less and less of. Time will tell.

But surely having fewer competitors means that they have even more eggs in their basket than a company in a crowded market would have, no?
To me, it seems more like Spotify are making light of very obvious comparisons and, in fact, the only ones who should be worried are the stars who ploughed a shedload of money into a vehicle that powers their own wealth over any kind of customer incentive and that has had a lukewarm reception, at best. But I agree, time WILL tell.
