1.) Basic Instinct (U Got Me) - 4/5
I liiive for the beginning rap. Yassss, Ci, bring out that raw BUTCH. And the ending was just amazing to me; she sounds really sincere.
2.) Ride - 5/5
Hew else but the pretentious Ci to give a HOE's anthem like she was one. This track is special and I'm glad it was the first single. Love everything about it.
3.) Gimmie Dat - 4/5
Fast and hard hitting, but meaning nothing at all. I use.
4.) Heavy Rotation - 3/5
It's the epitome of a grower. The intro sets the song up to be a complete snooze, but it gets better (much better) with the time. I can bop.
5.) Girls Get Your Money - 3/5
KIIIII. Ci did N0T just gives this pre-school anthem to us. I couldn't take at first, but it's fun and playful, and that's all I really need.
6.) Yeah I Know - 4/5
Somewhat a grower, but once it hits you, it HITS you. I use the **** out of this up-coming SMASH. Ci sounds so confident.
7.) Speechless - 3/5
I hated this **** when it leaked. The vocal arrangements were so weird, I just couldn't take. This new solo version is a small step ahead though. I can definitely listen to it more than once. Don't know why it was a single when she had "Listen To My Song" stored.
8.) You Can Get It - 5/5
Her vocals are not to be doubted ever again. My gorl can SING. IDC what any hot-breath breathin' FAGG thinks. It's not really the most innovative of songs, but it just feels so good. The-Dream repetitive azz finally struck gold.
9.) Turn It Up - 4/5
Generic pop hit. I use. Usher doesn't really add much to it; she could've done it solo.
10.) Wants for Dinner - 5/5
The snippet had me gasping for air and for GOOD reason. This Jamaican tune and the way she sings over its tangy beat is addictive. Ci said, "I can't have Blauw on the alberm? I got somethin in store for you Ms. Jive." :41:
11.) I Run It - 5/5
Contrary to popular belief, Ciara's ballads are the **** and this one is just the icing on the cake. Evoking the vocals reminiscent to that of a young Toni Braxton's, Ci takes her vocals to new heights. PUNCH, Queen. Perfect album closer.
Bottom Line: A-

Ciara - "Basic Instinct"
Reviewed By: Tierra
1. Basic Instinct (U Got Me) - 9/10
Perfect album opener. Initially, I wasn't to thrilled about it being on the album at all, but I can see exactly why she left it here as I listen to the album as a whole.
2. Ride (Featuring Ludacris) - 9/10
So glad it was the first single. I can't see it any other way. After 8 months, this still sounds just as fresh as it did back in April. My only complaint with this record is, the second verse isn't as consistent as the first verse and it kinda drags.
3. Gimmie Dat - 10/10
Is it just me or does the bass sound HARDER? Did they turn the bass up when it was mastered?! Lol. Perfect club banger. No complaints. This song has always took me to another level. I love the way Soundz arranged the hook to come in at the opening, it sounds so EPIC! Still reminds me of space jam.
4. Heavy Rotation - 10/10
The opening of this song is soooooo trippy and sweet. T-Minus (?) really went in on the production. I love the way Ci comes in with the hook off top, so fresh. This is like "C.R.U.S.H." turned up to the MAX! Definitely one of my favorite tracks on the album.
5. Girls Get Your Money - 8.5/10
The production on this one is automatically a WINNER! Ciara sounds real hot on this too. I think everything else is what will have to grow on me. The arrangement is kind of messy, so I can't really find "Hook - Verse - Hook". I think that was done purposely though. All and all, I'm glad Ci through something like this at me. To make me go O_o, switch it up a bit.
6. Yeah I Know - 9.5/10
Yessssssssssssssssss! Out of all the tracks on the album, this, "You Can Get It", and "Heavy Rotation" are probably the ones that relate the most to me right now. I love the concept. We're not here for the basic bitches, Ci! The production is fire. The verse/hook is fire. The only reason I didn't give it a 10/10 was because it needs a bridge, I don't like how they repeated pre-chorus, that was kinda lazy.
7. Speechless - 8.7/10
I like this. Always have but I think it's missing something. Like "Ride", the second verse does not match the greatness of the first one. I hate when The-Dream does that. But nonetheless, it's a cute track. Nothing new but it's cool.
8. You Can Get It - 9.5/10
That INTRO!!!!! Was that an angel?? As soon as that beat kicks IN, it's a wrap. The first verse is NUTS. Her swag on 100. Love the whole concept of this. It's always nice to have the girl play this part for once. <3
9. Turn It Up (Featuring Usher) - 9/10
Perfect pop banger. I think this could have been a bit more fun if she had a female edition like Ke$ha or someone. LOL. That would have been cute, but I still love this. Her vocals are so STRONG and BOLD on it. Reminded me of the end of "Takin' Back My Love". I can't @ the ending vocal...she was like, "I DID that!" Lol.
10. Wants For Dinner - 8.5/10
I like it. My problem with it is, I kind of get lost in it. But the vocals are on point, that's for sure. Just wish it was thought out better, The-Dream sounds like he rushed on a lot of his tracks.
11. I Run It - 9/10
Unlike, "Wants For Dinner", I LOVE the fact that I get lost in this because it feels good to just sit and listen to it. And the arrangement isn't messy. But from what everybody was saying about this track, I was expecting a bit more to be honest. Still love it. I definitely see it growing on me.
Overall: 91 - A
Yet another cohesive effort. I think she's a pro at doing that. I've yet to hear a Ciara song I don't like. Time will tell if this is really better than "Fantasy Ride" or if it's on the level of "The Evolution" & "Goodies". I don't think it'll get old as fast as "Fantasy Ride" did, just for the simple fact that the Ciara presence is there. She brought it back as well as bringing a new sexier side of herself. All the fans that weren't here for "Fantasy Ride" and weren't here for Ciara at that time, will love this album, and she be right back on board. That means she achieved her ultimate goal, and took it back to the basics.

Great review, I love the overall impression.
I feel pretty much the same about all the tracks, although "Basic Instinct", "Yeah I Know", "Turn It Up" and "I Run It" are 10/10 for me.
And I love the second verse of "Ride", probably more than the first one, and I'm glad Usher is featured on "Turn It Up".

1.Basic Instinct (U Got Me)
I loved the hell out of this song back when it leaked, but i found it kind of unesecary to be on the album... there were plenty of songs that could've taken it's space. other than that, the song is still pretty good. the Basic Instinct part trumps the first half of the song by FAR.
6/10
2. Ride (feat. Ludacris)
I will NEVER get tired of this song. It took a while for it to warm up to me, but this song is too amazing. her vocals, the production, the lyrics-- all AMAZING.
10/10
3. Gimmie Dat
I've grown tired of this song somewhat, but it still does something to me. the production is amazing and the verses + breakdown are insane, but unfortunately the chorus is the song's low point. still love it tho.
7/10
4. Heavy Rotation.
IDK what it is about this song, but it does nothing for me. It sounds like one big flat line. I'm sure it'll grow on me sometime in the near future.
3/10
5. Girls Get Your Money
This song is very fun, the beat is hot, Ciara sounds good. I didnt expect much from it b/c of the cheesy lyrics, but it's actually one of my favorites on the album.
810
6. Yea I know
SICK. initially the whole beat changing turned me off, but after a few plays i really got into it. this is another gem on the album.
9/10
7.Speechless.
Speechless will always have a special spot in my heart. I still havent grown tired of this tack. Ciara sings the HELL out of this song and it just have a feel good vibe through out it. I would have perferred them keeping dream, or another R&B male singer, on the track, because the song had way more emotion and meaning when he was on it.
7/10
8. You Can Get It.
EASILY the best song on the album.
the intro. Her vocals. the production. dream in the backgrounds. the slight THUMP. the background vocals. i just CANT. this is definitely one of my favorite
ci songs EVER.
10/10
9.Turn It Up.
this song is very catchy thanks to the wonderful chorus. I would have liked if there was much more going on cuz it seems way too short, but it's still one of the better tracks on the album.
8/10
10.Wants for dinner.
I think this is my second favorite off the album. Ciara & Dream went IN on this. it's the most unique song on the album IMO because of the whole tropical feel.
9/10
11. I Run It
there's no words that i can use, or think of, to explain the epicnes that is "I Run It"
10/10
Overall:8.5/10
