It's good to see we're all adults here. I'm sorry if I had offended you.

Actions speak louder than words...Just because people were protesting doesn't mean anything actually happened. Rumors were spread and the situation was made out to be much worse than it is. I personally didn't agree with it at the time, but seeing the very small impact it has had on schools all over the state, I can't disagree with his decision to do it. Plus, it will reduce taxes for the middle class and many were happy about that. If Corzine were in office, all we would have is higher taxes and unnecessary spending.

So if actions speak louder than words, then how do the rallies account to nothing occurring?

Most of the rallies were held before any changes had even been made. They were all based on word of mouth and what schools had stated. The schools made threats and made the cuts out to be something more drastic than they really were. As of now, nobody is protesting because they have no reason to.

Did discostickk just discredit rallies by saying they were all wrong and nothing happened at their own schools?
I'm a bit confused.

yes basically. If you lived in NJ, you would see that the rallies were based on rumors of what would occur. Most of the rumors were exaggerated.

Geezus Christ, all of the bitching in this thread.
Oh boo hoo ya'll didn't get ya'll free health care.
Get off of your sorry asses, get a job that Obama helped to create using the 25 trillion dollars he spent and buy your own insurance.
What, do you really think gay marriage should be top priority?
Get a grip, what's the point of having gay marriage if it can't be utilized because no can afford to get married in the first place?
Jobs should be the first thing the government tries to fix, then passing laws.
The country was near a depression, and while I agree McCain could have also gotten us out of it the fact that Obama managed to do it is astonishing.
People overestimate his powers.
He can't pass vote by himself, they need to pass through Congress and if they vote no then oh well, he tried.
People should be happy that the country is in better shape than it was before but most people, as I can see, can only see the negative.
He has two more years to go.

Nobody is once again your "my opinion is fact" philosophy. Obviously if Chunky has an interest in keeping his job he has to cool things down. The stampede just isn't large enough to break down the doors of his office at the moment. And the reason why extremely drastic changes weren't made is because the sports and activities that WERE cut earlier this year were saved by pretty large loans. And it wasn't all word of mouth - one of my friends knows that teachers WERE cut. Some were re-hired. Some were not. And the really amazing teachers that retired earlier than planned did that to save others' jobs. If they weren't so thoughtful, more cuts would have taken place.
Also, it's extremely evident that this could lead to education moving backwards instead of forwards, since stingy governors in other states are praising Your Chunky.

The government has to hit these companies hard and make it difficult for them to move overseas and then bring their goods to the US.

Again. "Outsourcing." .... Not just "Manufacturing" ...How about service, technology, and management jobs as well?
And they already control imported goods via tariffs alongside our association with organizations/agreements/collaborations such as NAFTA and the WTO. Some of these companies already pay for the tariffs themselves or apply the cost to the products they are selling.

1. Any teachers, activities, or sports programs were brought back due to more cautious and effective spending for school districts.
2. Very few teachers were cut, and those that were laid off were obviously not necessary for the district.
3. Did you ever consider how much money school districts have wasted before the cuts? They are able to do just about the same thing with a lot less money, so obviously they weren't doing something right.
4. Here is a receipt of how schools have had little impact with some planning.
