This song was kind of a late bloomer for me and Korea, with it recently hitting number 1 four months after it was released. The song is SO good though, it sounds so fun and bubbly at the start with its cute trumpet sounds and being catchy as hell, and gradually escalates into a layered explosion around the bridge. It kinda slays tbh.
I hope I can be with you for just one day, having a party with only you

I never thought this would be my favourite song from Skool Luv Affair but here it is, staying on top by far. This song is SO beautiful, it makes me want to keel over fml. Anyway the lyrics are corny af but kinda cute so I use, and the harmonies BTS are capable of always shine. Plus there's Jimin with those ****ing high notes akqwrlkjqfw

MAMAMOO are such a great group for so many reasons, the main being that they're pretty retro-sounding and 3/4 have impressive pipes on them while the other has a great rapping voice. Mr. Ambiguous is no different, with their vocals booming and the production being a jazzy/bluesy throwback, and it's just dandy.
And I hope it's sinking in, left behind your perfect skin

I never really got into La Roux more than going hard for her singles back in 2009, but I listened to this when it was released out of curiosity. Let Me Down Gently didn't disappoint, being a gorgeous track that starts so beautifully and evolves in a synth explosion that La Roux still dominates. It's one of the busiest songs on Trouble in Paradise and I'm glad it's my most played since it's so catchy and has such high replay value. And in all honestly, this song is still growing on me, which is some magical stuff right there.

Holy ****, this song STILL blows me away even after all this time. Granted it's not as catchy as Gimme Chocolate!! but the fusion of electronic and metal on this song is the best on the album imo, and the blending of synths with the near-speed metal is incredible. The girls' vocals soar and of course Sumetal just blasts everything out of the water on the post-bridge and final verse. The entire thing is just phenomenal. Oh and did I mention the outstanding lyrics being about women being master actors, not letting men see their true selves by changing their colours at any instant? No? Slay.
HA:TFELT I'm still so happy you showed me that EP!
Now that these are done, I look forward to the real albums list
When I eventually get around to it akfl;alfk
Pls anticipate my albums list being rush-posted on January 31st w/no graphics~~

Ty to everyone else for their comments too, am living for this one update/page shiz a bit.
If the ice melts, a warmer song would have come out.
But why is the ice so cold? Why is it so cold?

Yeah I cheated with this since I’ve played 200% more but I couldn’t bring myself to omit Melted when it’s so ****ing superior in every way.
I don’t even know where to start with this song, but I guess I’ll start by saying it’s perfect. Every part is so refined and flawless, and it’s one of the most beautiful ballads I’ve ever heard. Skipping the baseline acoustic guitar and piano, the song builds and builds with strings coming in and the the kids voices being blended together more and more into some phenomenal climax that is next level. I’ve legitimately shed tears over this song, since the last minute is absolutely incredible.
The video is ****ing amazing too. It reflects the song a lot, showing how modern society is so destructive, especially to the younger, more naïve generation. To the point where a curious, innocent boy ends up the animal that society is turning us into with its selfishness, but how there will always be someone out there that will make things better. Idk man, just watch it and let the feels destroy you a bit.
'Cos you never really took it serious, did you?
No you never really took life serious, did you?

Foxes' debut was kinda disappointing, since after listening to her for so long there was nothing that instantly wowed me from the new tracks. Nothing except Talking to Ghosts, at least. This song kind of blew me away from the start, and made the rest of the album feel pretty inferior save a few standouts. The instrumental is so bold and obvious that it really grabbed me, and everything just kinda went from there. The (traditional) asian-sounding melody in the song also helped, since it really resonated with me well for some reason.

MARINA & THE DIAMONDS

Where to start with Froot when the whole thing is just incredible. Plus ofc it's new Marina material so ofc it's going to get a **** tonne of plays without question.
It starts with a funky, disco-inspired beat which instantly hooks you, especially since it blends with the synths so flawlessly. Then everything about the lyrics and vocals are perfect, with the song being catchy, having several sections that break the generic song formula and Marina's vocals flowing so seamlessly from deep to the high, floating vocals she uses. Then the lyrics themselves are a touch of genius, with the entire thing being a million and one metaphors for Marina's love for a guy, with her saying her love is at it's prime right now (like ripe fruit) and that she hopes he doesn't leaving her hanging (like fruit hahahaha, get it?) until her love withers away and 'rots' like fruit that falls off the tree.
Brava Marines, gimme moar.
Was the love I gave a joke to you?
Were you sick of the love I gave you?

Something is a great song but I can see why a lot of people don't like it. Personally I love it because it's one of those chilled out songs I can play at night when things slow down, so after a few weeks of playing it here and there it finally hit me and I started listening to it heavier. It's a pretty song and is catchy as hell. It wasn't even until I loved it that I looked up the lyrics and realised the song is heartbreaking too. Sad times.

Ignorance and racism aside, I really enjoyed Iggy's music this year and I'm happy to enjoy her music even if she herself is kinda insufferable.
I love Walk the Line more than most other tracks on TNC, but I'm not entirely sure why lmao. Work got a whole load more plays from me last year but it wasn't from 2014 so I had to skip it. Either way, I love the raps in Walk the Line and something about the production I really like too. One of my favourite parts of the album is the spoken introduction to Walk the Line; if she'd have keep that style up of using other sources throughout the album then it would have been a million times better, ugh #CareerGoals. Make it happen Iggy Iggs.
I really love the Akmu and Marina choices! Really good stuff.
I think of "Froot" as a love song as well but I think Marina mentioned it was something like a "3005" (Gambino) situation where the song is primarily about happiness, despite alluding to another person the whole time. Maybe happiness is the love interest?
