The Grammys are very biased. Even historically with the likes of many songs being snubbed.


This means that Grammys don't make legends or classics. People and journalistic critics do. That's something people fail to realize.

I don't get the hate for RITD video. I LOVED it and it fit the song well. People need to look past the messy, overdone videos and realize not all great music videos require over he top antics and special graphics.

Yes, RITD video is simple, yet powerful with beautiful visuals which corresponds with the song lyrics and symbolize a lot of emotions. I was amazed when I saw it for the first time.

There were similarly good songs, albums and vids released in 2010 and 2011, which werent recognitzed and nominated at all tho. But out of those nominees, Adele deserved her wins.

Nas and Snoop not getting a Grammy, while Chamillionaire (for example) has one
Will Smith's "Men in Black" winning over Biggie's "Hypnotize," Missy Elliott's "Supa Dupa Fly," and Busta Rhymes' "Put Your Hands Where My I Could See"
Toni Braxton's "You're Makin' Me High" win over pretty much every nominee in Best Female R&B Vocal Performance that year
Jethro Tull winning Best Metal Performance over Metallica
Christopher Cross' big win
Lionel Richie winning AOTY over Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner and Cyndi Lauper (not the most shocking win, though)
Relapse by Eminem winning over Q-Tip's and Most Def's near-flawless albums
The rubber stamping in the rap field
Mary's "He Think I Don't Know" winning Best Female R&B Vocal Performance (and I love Mary)
Trisha Yearwood's version of "How Do I Live" winning Best Female Country Vocal Performance over LeAnn Rimes' version
Celine Dion winning AOTY over The Fugees
Marc Cohn winning Best New Artist
Milli Vanilli even winning Best New Artist before the revoke drama
Shelby Lynne winning Best New Artist after being active for like ten years - Jill Scott or Brad Paisley should have won.

Whilst I agree with a few things you said, it's mostly subjective, HOWEVER, the whole 'dance' category thing is ridiculous.

Excluding dance/pop acts from the dance/electronic category is such a double standard. Beyonce and Taylor Swift are R&B/pop and country/pop respectively and can get nominated in the 'main' categories as well as their subgenre.

If their concern was more about giving producers/DJ's a chance, they should have created a category for them. Dance/electronic production/instrumental. Their more pop vocal focused singles can face the other dance/pop. That's how it is everywhere else.

If you wanna talk about Gaga's snubs, the only one I can think of is "Use Somebody" winning over "Poker Face." I kind of saw it coming, because ROTY always goes to traditionally composed tracks.

The new dance rule (this was only confirmed by a voter, but it's obvious there was a change) is not hurting pop acts from winning any Grammy or being recognized. And the dance scene is basically the pop scene right now, hence why those tracks are being placed in pop, so I don't see the major issue with the change on that front. Gaga, Rihanna and others are still able to be recognized, just elsewhere.

The only major issue here is that Skrillex - who has now garnered up enough mainstream recognition without getting a top 40 hit - is now set to sweep. He's now the Jay-Z/Kanye of the dance field, but what can you do?

the biggest grammy mistakes is that winner and nominees are chosen by success / copies sold , not quality !
