I'm trying to get all this done by the end of the year, so I'm gonna go ahead and post installment #11 of my top 20 singles, which is #20 through #11. There's only so much time left before 2006 is over, so I've gotta keep this moving fast!
The second single from their new album, and one that I enjoyed much. More on the album later.
Not a true single, per se, but it went for airplay in some places. One of my favorite Cat Power songs.
Well, around the beginning of the year, I started to adore Leslie Feist thanks to her song "Mushaboom." Then, I saw the video for this on Subterranean, and I fell in love with it. Feist is great, and I should check out more of her music.
This could very well be the last appearance from Outkast on any of my countdowns, and that's too bad, but it's a great way to go out. "Mighty O" was one of my favorite songs of the summer, and it was good to hear Andre and Big Boi on the same track.
I'll save most of my praise for KT in my upcoming album summary, but this is really a great song.
I first heard it around the beginning of the year and I was instantly addicted. Like Ben pointed out one time, the video should've been set in a sweatshop with everyone working to the beat. That would've been damn good.
Second of three appearances from Gnarls Barkley... where will "Gone Daddy Gone" land on the list?
Such a haunting song. I'll also talk more about Thom Yorke in the upcoming albums list.
My favorite song from Jenny Lewis and my sisters! I loved this one all year. Great selection.
The second single from the amazing Lily Allen. There'll be much more of her to come on my lists.
Alright we're rollin' now! I'm going to continue my lists straight through to the end of the year. Still to come: the top 10 singles, as well as the entire top 20 albums list. Somehow, I'll get it all done in three days. Keep supporting the thread!
