All Eyes On You by St. Lucia
I just discovered this song during the Black Friday album sale on Amazon. I gave St. Lucia a chance and bought the album, and loved "All Eyes On You" instantly. It has quickly become one of my favorite songs of the year. |

Closer by Tegan & Sara
I have never been a fan of Tegan & Sara, and haven't heard much of their music, but a friend urged me to check out "Closer" shortly after it was released, and I loved it. It was a breath of fresh air. |

Change Your Life by Iggy Azalea
At the beginning of the year, I had a strong disliking for Iggy. After giving her music a fair chance, I had a change of heart. "Change Your Life" is one of her best songs thus far, and deserves to be a hit. |

You (Ha Ha Ha) by Charli XCX
"You (Ha Ha Ha)" was one of the first "major" releases of the year. It is one of the only early 2013 releases that I can still listen to on repeat. It remains one of my favorite Charli XCX songs. |

Q.U.E.E.N. (feat. Erykah Badu) by Janelle Monáe
2013 was definitely Janelle's year. Even though we were expecting new music, "Q.U.E.E.N." seemed to come out of nowhere. I didn't care for it too much at first, after stanning for The ArchAndroid, but it grew on me. Her rap verse is one of my favorites of the decade. When I saw her live last month, it was one of her best performances. |

Oh yes, this top 35 is looking delicious.
I haven't heard Black Beauty though, and I won't give Iggy a chance until Azealia releases and album and slays the girls.

I just gave a listen to Beyoncé's latest album and I liked it! Partition is a nice song.
Also, good for Closer. That song is one of my favorites from Heartthrob.

I thoroughly enjoyed "Bow Down/I Been On", so it was love at first listen with "***Flawless". The video is one of my favorites on the album (see: avatar), and I love Chimamanda's speech. It's in my top 3 for the album. |

Like A Stranger by Kitten
I tried to get into Kitten when I found out they were touring with Charli XCX. I didn't care for the songs I heard at first, but "Like A Stranger" stood out to me when I heard it. Although Kitten is basically broken up now, I still enjoy the song and it was one of my most played of the last quarter. |

Fashion! by Lady Gaga
Gaga really shocked me with "Fashion!". I didn't expect her to collaborate with Will.I.Am, let alone record another song titled "Fashion". I wasn't expecting to like it, but it was one of the first songs I found myself replaying on ARTPOP. |

24 Hours by Sky Ferreira
There is so much to say about "24 Hours". It's one of my all time favorite Sky songs. Out of all the songs on Night Time, My Time, it's truest to her old sound. It's so beautiful and catchy, and not in a generic way. When I revisit this list next year, it will probably be in the top 10. |

Tennis Court by Lorde
Whenever I think of "Tennis Court", I think back to the days not so long ago when the Lorde craze began. I didn't care for "Royals", but gave "Tennis Court" a chance. I didn't like it either. That changed after a couple of weeks. It quickly became one of my most played songs of the year. |

Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey
"Young And Beautiful" was the only official new release by Lana this year. Being a huge fan of Lana's, I enjoyed it right away. I don't care for any of the remixes, because the original is untouchable. |

Warm Water by Banks
I gave Banks a chance after a friend recommended her music to me, and said that her sound is very similar to The Weeknd, who I love. I took a leap of faith and purchased all of her songs/singles on iTunes. The first few songs I heard didn't do anything for me, but "Warm Water" gave me goosebumps. It's one of those songs that you can feel. I get teary eyed every time I listen to it. |

Haunted by Beyoncé
"Ghost" is one of the deepest, most intense songs Beyoncé has ever done. And "Haunted" is no disappoint either. "Haunted" was one of the first songs I listened to on Beyoncé, and is possibly my favorite song. |

The Love Club by Lorde
I didn't get into "The Love Club" until a couple of months after Pure Heroine was released. I listened to The Love Club EP when it came out, and didn't care for any of the songs. But after playing the hell out of Pure Heroine, I gave "The Love Club" a second chance and fell in love. I'm so sad that it wasn't included on the album. |

Come Walk With Me by M.I.A.
We've technically had this song for a year and a half. Well, part of the song. I like the album version more than the preview version she gave us last year. It took a couple of plays to like the song, because I'm not used to M.I.A. releasing such upbeat music. It's one of my favorite tracks on Matangi. |

As the list progresses, I'm realizing how many songs I left off. I could probably add 10-15 more songs to the countdown that should have been included, but were forgotten. I'll probably update my list after I finish my countdown. Same goes for previous years.

I decided to do a Top 200 Songs Of All Time list at the end of my countdown. It'll be less of a countdown, though. I'll probably post it in 5 parts or something. But I'm on a roll with these lists. I'm determined to actually finish this time.
