OK, STOP HERE. I was wavering between agreeing with you and then Rico but I can't take somebody saying Blackout flopped because it wasn't a good album. It was a no-excuses pop/dance masterpiece. It may not be what
you personally prefer but it is probably still Britney's best album--
Circus is very close but has gotten a little stale for me.
And the thing is, Britney got
negative press throughout 2007 and most of 2008. You think that helps sell albums? Think again. Imagine what most people thought of her during this time. Nobody was interested in her music, just her personal life. I could bring up
Damita Jo as a parallel--people were talking about Janet constantly after the Super Bowl but did it help her sell more albums? Hell to the no!
