I don't understand how in one thread, we can talk about the media glorifying caucasian features like blonde hair and blue eyes as being the ideal standard of beauty, and how that sends the wrong message to kids and people of different ethnicities, and then in another thread (i.e. this one) when I bring up the fact that a black woman is dying her hair blonde and risking her eye sight to change her eye colour, it's "how dare you insinuate that she's trying to become white."
Like what else would you call it? She's drastically changing her appearance (and seemingly her ethnicity) and it's really, really sad.
