Kendrick's album isn't any good. That's why the lower than expected numbers for him. None of the singles took off. I suspect he will trend down heavily by the end of the week and as word gets out that his album is weak.
Marina is a marketing genius. She found a brilliant way to cater to the singles market, yet still push the album as a whole. Very good numbers considering she isn't doing a big USA circuit nor pushed a top 40 single. Good for her

There's no way she opened with that in the U.S.. I'm pretty sure she opened with that in the UK with The Family Jewels. Also Gaga opened with 24,000 in 2008 with The Fame and she made top 30 or 40 on the Billboard 200.

#138 is probably around 4k to 8k.
Yeah I know, but a lot of sites are reporting the false 24,000 figure as first week sales which billboard vaguely mentions as year-to-date sales. Even sites like mtv, really annoying and unprofessional
but yeah, these sales are great considering the digital release so idg why people are underwhelmed.
