I agree with you on strict background checks for sure. However that is not going to be an end all be all to gun violence.

Most people would not know how to get a gun. Just look at all civilized countries with gun control.

Guns on the black market are extremely expensive first of all. And who would you even talk to to get a gun? Most people wouldn't know, certainly not these kids that actually execute these shootings

The people who somehow have the connections to get a gun aren't the type that bother shooting schools. Pretty sure they're all just crazy/depressed students, and they're only able to do this because it's so easy to get a gun.

Most certainly! But it is an important step in the right direction. We have to crackdown on the illegal sales of guns and improve our mental health system. ALL of these are important but they're not all gonna happen at the same time. There has to be a first step and Universal background checks is the low hanging fruit in this equation.

He is kind of right though. A part of me thinks that if the U.S. makes guns illegal, the good people will no longer have them but the bad guys will always find a way to get guns illegally and continue their attacks. This really is a mental illness issue. The U.S. needs to focus on educating people about mental illness.

If you ban guns from all public places, the bad guys or the psychos are not going to give a damn about the law if they are out for blood.

If the psychos start killing people with a knife instead of a gun, are we going to ban all knives?
