Yeah, Kesha will still be under contract with Kemosabe and Luke, but they will no longer get support from Sony, which means she is more likely to get free. Her lawyer will no longer have to face Sony's lawyers on court and the situation has changed.
It just depends on what the contract is. Sony owns Kemosabe. If Kemosabe gets terminated, then Kesha no longer has any obligations
That is true but I don't think he is that stupid. Didn't he start Kemosabe before he got signed to sony. Why would he as a successful producer sign over all his rights to his label to Sony????
Sony is only the distributor to his label. It's like Jojo and Background situation. They got dumped by MANY distributors but Berry always maintained control of the business and so JoJo was still signed to them instead of staying with Interscope back in 2010-2011

He already is (for defamation for her original lawsuit).
And the only way Sony "drops" Luke is if they pay him, so he can't sue over this specifically. Luke is under contract with Sony. They can't outright fire him.
This may be true for Becky G, GRL, etc., but Luke and Kesha signed a deal in 2005-06 and Jive/RCA came on as distributors for her in 2009.
So all this would mean is that Kemosabe would not operate under the Sony umbrella.
if sony does drop luke and it turns out that kesha is still bound to kemosabe, her lawyer needs to bring up california's 7-year contract rule in court since the record deal was signed and filed in california!

Think about it Kesha is signed to Sony via Luke. If they drop Luke then Kesha will still be signed to Luke but Sony has no part in it. If I were ya I wouldn't celebrate because isn't Kesha in a worse position. Now she has no support from a bigger label and she is still signed to Luke. Now she will most likely never be able to work again because she will be locked into Luke's contract and can't work with other Sony producers like sony offered. This seems like Sony's was of clapping back at both of them for bring them into Luke and Kesha's drama. \
Really smart on their part they look like heros by getting rid of Luke but can get revenge on Kesha by knowing she will never work again after she refused Sony's offer and then suing them.
