But really, it's a shame that Gaga's budget is so big that others have to be dropped.
It's not established acts being dropped, it's the hidden gems you've never heard of and probably won't.
This is why you shouldn't aim for big labels with acts. You are going to get neglected more than likely, unless you can pull strings like no other. This is the way it is. Interscope is banking on Gaga to give them more cash. They can't shell out money in hopes that other people will rise, because they might lose Gaga. It is a business, and like all businesses....financial gain >>>>> financial loss.
I don't see the point in going on tour after your second single especially after it free falls out of the top 10. She had just finished up her major tour as well. I'm sure she needed some kind of rest.
I kinda forgot about U&I. After the VMA performance was when she should started going on tour. Marry the Night had an amazing promotional schedule, even bigger than Rihanna's first single WFL or her 4th singles Man Down/ CKB combined, but still underperformed. The promotion for that wasn't needed at all and could have been money saved.
As long as Madge and No Doubt/Gwen are safe, then I'm not bothered.... But if No Doubt keeps taking their sweet time recording Chinese Democracy pt.2 their new album, then I wouldn't be surprised
That happens on almost all labels. Janet ****ing Jackson, a pop icon, was on Def jam but their main focus was Rihanna. Which makes sense because she's much younger and appeals more to our generation compared to Janet who is no longer in her prime.
All labels put their main focus on their cash cows while other artists on the same label don't get much promotion.
Well then he's right that the system needs to change, because it's doing more way more harm than good.
