Do you ever heard people mention that Thriller is the best selling male album? Do you hear people mention that U2 has the biggest tour by male artists? NO. I guess since some women can sell as much as men, we should never mention "female" in an achievement either.
The ignorance on this site is astonishing, some of you might be wrong but it's really NO excuse to be that clueless.

Yea it's no excuse.

Mariah didn't face the hardships of the aforementioned.
BUT, if we're gonna get technical, she's the most successful black female artist, and Latina female as well.

I will gladly do so when it airs.
I'm also sure Britney's very content with the 15 million that she's getting and that has nothing to do with her race.

It was unheard of for a black artist to be played on other radio stations than R&B.
Black artist only were nominated in the R&B categories.
Need I go further????
Even though artist like MJ have helped even the playing field, it is still not even. Also MJ is a man

I'm saying though does it have more to do with race or the fact that blacks generally make music that's more accessible to the black race? As a black person, I know race can be inhibitory, but I do feel like artists like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder, etc diminished those barriers years ago. Like I said, I'm staying out of this, but I keep getting sucked in.

Britney stans racist?
Completely overlooking the fact that a good number of them on ATRL are minorities themselves, myself included. Just because you don't agree with pulling the race card, doesn't mean you aren't a minority yourself.

This. I don't understand how that is so hard for people to understand. But they actually have to be willing to accept it, in order to understand it. Some people are just plain ignorant.

Beyoncé and Rihanna make cross over music that is accessible to all, yes, but that doesn't really change anything IMO.
