I'm not surprised by this. Their last album didn't manage to sell 1 million in the US, it's obvious they're on a decline. It's not really their fault though, more like the unfavorable sales climate
I'm legitimately surprised. Maybe they're already moving into the elder statesmen phase of the typical rock band where they're respected, but no one is really falling over themselves to snatch up their music.
I really don't get why they tried to squeeze in a release this year just to benefit from holiday sales. Ghost Stories was released in May and it ended up selling 4M and they barely promoted it.
just for the record, Ghost Stories has so far sold more than 850,000 copies in the US.. and, given the relative lack of promo, those are good numbers. It ill be PLATINUM in a few months
