Well.....
Look at Katy.
I really am perplexed as to why this happening to be honest. AND Rihanna has the Urban support (well...except for Only Girl).
IDK. I guess all I am hoping for is longevity.

Katy what?
Katy's pop artist. Nothing else.
Rihanna's on her 5th studio album. She has +20 singles and +8 #1's.
Katy has just released her second album.
Riri has the Urban support. Another + for her.

gurl sit yoo crusty ass down. theres no excuse for KATY not to sell at least 300k+ wit two of the most successful singles of the year. not to mention cali gurls is the most successful single off the year....
in dat case, Katy will remain selling like that by the time her 7th studio album drop. she is in the same category as Rihanna, so HUSH...............
if CALI GURLS, and TEENAGE DREAM cant make her sell, NOTHING WILL......

I would just like to remind everyone that when we get the final predictions today, and if its not 200k but like 195k its not final until Billboard announces, and those real numbers are always a little different from HITS numbers. So don't freak out.

She's lucky to be on her fifth album, still getting #1 and popular and can at least sell albums decently.
I mean, B.o.B and Ke$ha both opened at #1, but I wonder where they will be at their fifth album.
And also, she's a Pop star. Remind me since when Pop stars have huge opening week sales? Other than Britney, nobody can do it. And don't say GaGa, she haven't even released her third (second) album yet.

Loud might sell another 100k this week.
Its just a hunch, its getting discounted everywhere, the most steady album from last week on itunes, and it moved up on amazon.

right .. as much as I don't like you I have to agree ..
her first week sales might not be stellar like some other people or medicore compared to how big she is but so what ?
I mean damn .. all y'all are like she should be selling more this that and this and that .. she isn't an album seller in the US .. period .. it really isn't that hard to grasp nor understand so I don't know why y'all are so bent on continuing this conversation .. the US loves her singles and are on/off with her albums .. whatever .. internationally she's slays and they love her .. she's just average in the US .. I'm happy to know she isn't local like some others .. all artists sell differently PERIOD .. keep the hell up ..
and her first week sales are steady majority of the time .. she stays in the same range but may go higher it depends which isn't a problem imo because while some people debut with 700k and then drop all the way to 300k .. she tops her last albums first week sales .. they are a steady rise and have longetivity which is what really matters imo ..

Rihanna's sales are fine. 200k is good not to mention that a lot of people probably bought the singles (just look at their Hot 100 peaks).

Katy doesn't have the credentials Rihanna has, so comparing them is ridiculous. Even though Katy didn't open big, it's selling really well. We'll have to see if Loud will last after this week. Based on past performances..

While I prefer Rated R I can definitely see Loud staying around the Billboard 200 for a while...I think it's going to have longevity comparable to GGGB...we'll see
