The OP cut the quotes off mid-way. Like, she wasn't coming for Katy, she said they are different artist who shouldn't be compared. The fact she is happy with how much she sold, how she isn't jealous of Katy, but happy for her success, etc.
I never said she was coming for Katy though. I don't think she was throwing shade. I just think she's still pressed and bothered about her underperformance. The fact that she had to bring up her sales and point out that they're normal and on par with the other girls proves it.
Why did a monster open this thread with mis-quoted, out-of-context stuff? She did not shade Katy in any way. The interviewer ASKED her about Roar/Applause, and she literally said she wants the comparisons to stop because it's stupid to pit them against each other/they are different people.
I feel like she repeats how she doesn't care, but you can tell she actually does.
I think it's fine that she cares, but rather than use the sales to see what she needs to fix, she uses it to rebel and say YOU ALL are the problem, not ME. You all are the ones who care too much, I have done nothing wrong.
I know that she likes rebellion, but her form of rebellion in this case is defensiveness and hypocritical mess.

Bolded and resized the OP because people seem to not go over who said what quote.

Exactly. I mean, the desperation for a hit thread...
