A bit different for both of those comedies. MoN was a pitch to NBC which was then set up at Netflix where it was ordered to series. UKS was piloted at NBC, ordered to series at NBC, filmed part of the season, then sold to Netflix which gave it a second season order immediately. (And a third not listed example, The Mindy Project was pitched to NBC, which then passed, but worked to set it up at FOX.)
These pilots that don't get ordered will just go in the trash. They may pursue shopping one or two, but the odds are heavily stacked against them.
