yes they are. sexuality is an entity and being gay has the stamp of biological approval; wanting to be referred to as 'it' goes against the rules of attraction and if anything suggests the child has a mental or social issue that needs to be dealt with

this is why the state needs to raise more awareness and invest more into the institutions of mental health

I doubt my children would take the pronoun usage seriously, they would probably ask to use whatever we feel like it since they wouldn't grow up feeling insecure or something. But if they insist on anything who am I to push them not to? I'd respect their wish, like any good parent would. I'd call them whatever they want me to call them.

That is of curse if I ever have kids. I really don't want to ever get kids but who knows.

I'm not calling them no damn "xe". I'm fine with they/them pronouns. I won't even be speaking to my children in English anyways. But I would use the Portuguese equivalent to gender neutral pronouns, if they want.

People have been genderqueer for ages, and historically, non-western societies have had radically different ideas about gender from the ones we have had.

Yeah, I don't get this really.

Gays and Trans people have SCIENCE. That is the big difference between this neutral xe/xem/xer stuff, and us LGBT. All the posts saying "wow the hypocrisy!", "what if they forced you to be straight?", etc. don't add up. It is scientific fact that the brain can develop and be naturally attracted to the same sex.. Or the fact that it's possible for your brain to develop in sync with the opposite sex, even if your body doesn't match..

I still haven't seen proof of this "xe/xem/xer" or demiboy, or dragon kin, or whatever new Tumblr buzz word is floating around. I'm open to it, I suppose. And if my kid was genuinely unhappy conforming as a boy or girl, and just wanted to be a "xe", well I would do everything I can to make xem happy. But first I would try and figure out if this is a real thing, or if xe just read it on xer tumblr blog and thought it would make xem unique.

If someone has any information on this, please link me. If there is any evidence to support people are born with neither a male or female brain, I'd genuinely love to learn about it.
