Beyonce's 'B-Day' Makes Big Bow At No. 1
Beyonce racks up her second No. 1 on The Billboard 200 with "B'Day," bypassing her best one-week sum by more than 220,000 copies. The Columbia set moved a whopping 541,000 units in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, the best sales number since Tool's "10,000 Days," sold 564,000 in May. "B'Day" also scores the No. 1 position on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums tally.
Beyonce also topped The Billboard 200 with her solo debut, "Dangerously in Love," which sold 317,000 in its first week. Only one Destiny's Child album managed a bigger start, 2001's "Survivor" with 663,000.

Yes. 5. With one of them having the best first week sales in American Billboard history for a female artist to this date and 4 passing the 500,000 mark.

Gaga has had two #1 singles (Just Dance and Poker Face). She has yet to have a #1 album but Born This Way will probably be #1.

Beyonce, Branch Albums Storm The Chart
The solo debut from Destiny's Child singer Beyonce Knowles leads three albums into the top-10 of The Billboard 200. Knowles' "Dangerously in Love" (Music World/Columbia) may have fallen well short of the first-week numbers of the last Destiny's Child set, but it still manages to sell an impressive 317,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Destiny's Child's "Survivor" opened at No. 1 with 663,000 units in its first week in 2001, and while no one expected Knowles to match that tally, she cruises by the best weeks of the solo efforts from her bandmates. Kelly Rowland's "Simply Deep" (Columbia) racked up 77,000 units in its strongest week, and "Heart to Yours" (Columbia) from Michelle Williams sold 17,000 copies in its top week. "Dangerously in Love" has already spawned a top-10 single on the Hot 100 with "Crazy in Love" featuring Jay-Z.

No. But they peaked at 7 on the hot 100.
that's a big accomplishment for a rock artist. lol
plenty of number 1's on the rock/alternative charts though. ^_^
Three Days Grace at least cracked the top 50. But again, a lot of number 1's on the rock charts. XD

However, The Fame holds the distinction of being the being the best-selling album worldwide that was released in 2008, and it's also the best-selling digital album of all time in the US.
